Consequences of urbanization on water quality in the agro-ecosystems along the rural-urban and transition zones of Bengaluru metropolitan city

Urbanization and its consequences on water quality is one of the important crises that need immediate attention. It has come to a stage of utilizing all available water resources and therefore it is a matter of level of contamination and the purpose. This study is an attempt to see the water quality in the agro-ecosystems along rural urban transition zones (RUT) of Bengaluru in terms of the suitability of water for major utilities such as drinking purpose, irrigation and for livestock use.
