- GIÁO ÁN TIẾNG ANH 9 Unit 1: A visit from a pen pal Lesson 1: Getting started & Listen and read I.The aims of the lesson: -To help sts get acquainted with the topic of unit 1 ,listen and read to understand the text and get the structure "to wish ". *Vocabulary:correspond,a mosque,to be impressed by, pray,friendliness *Grammar: To wish. *Skill: -Main skill: Speak and read -Other skills: listen and write. II.The objectives of the lesson -By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know about some places Lan went to with a foreign friend and some activities they took part in together;understand "present wish". III.Teaching aids Text book,radio,CD,pictures. IV.Procedure 1. Warm up: * Chatting Do you like travelling? Have you ever gone to HN /HCMC...? What did you use to do during the visit in HN? HCMC? ....... 2. Pre- teach vocabulary. * Active words: - ( to) correspond: trao đổi thư từ ( example) - a mosque : Nhà thờ hồi giáo (situation) - to be impressed by: bị ấn tượng bởi ( explanation) - (to) pray : cầu nguyện ( mime)

- 4.Pre listening “Tim jone’s mexican pen pal , Carols is visiting the USA” ask the students to look at the pictures and tell the class what there is in each one, where the place is . *Open prediction - Can you guess Where the place is , what the people are doing. - Get feedback. 5.While listening -Ask students to listen to the tape to check their guesses - Ask students to listen to the text again to choose the correct pictures * Answers. a. Have you been there?

Ask and answer questions about what each person did on the weekend.
