Hệ thống bảo đảm chất lượng bên trong của các trường đại học đã được xây dựng và vận hành theo cách riêng của mỗi trường. Một số xu hướng phát triển hệ thống bảo đảm chất lượng bên trong tại các trường đại học Việt Nam ngày càng thể hiện rõ, điều này sẽ giúp cho các trường đại học đã và đang xây dựng hoặc hoàn thiện hệ thống bảo đảm chất lượng bên trong tham khảo hoặc lựa chọn cho phù hợp. Mặt khác, Chính phủ và Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo cũng sẽ tiếp tục có các hướng dẫn cụ thể và hỗ trợ các cơ sở giáo dục trong việc thiết lập và vận hành hiệu quả các hệ thống bảo đảm chất lượng bên trong vì mục tiêu cải tiến liên tục và nâng cao chất lượng.
