During the recent decade, uncultured bacteria have been special interest as potential candidates for discovering novel antibacterial compounds. Two strains C101 and C102 were negative Gram bacteria, only growing on low nutrient media as R2A/3, NB/3, LB/10 and R4/10 compared to the usual.

The marine environmental conditions are particularly different from terrestrial ones; recent studies have showed that marine actinomycetes might produce many novel compounds with good biological activity. The objective of this study is to isolate and screen actinomycetes strains from the marine environment with activity against pathogenic microorganisms.

Bacterial infections have a substantial impact on global health and can become serious if misdiagnosed with several diseases related to the central nervous, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems. The prognosis in patients with infectious disease strongly depends on early diagnosis and appropriate antibiotic therapy.

Lactic acid, which can be produced by many bacterial groups through fermentation, is an interesting compound because it can be used in various fields such as in the food, pharmaceutical, material and chemical industries. In the present study, eight high lactic acid producing bacteria were isolated and screened from fermented mustard greens. The highest lactic acid producer (strain V156) was selected for further studies.

Accumulating evidence shows that gut microbial dysbiosis may represent a risk factor for Parkinson’s disease (PD). Exercise has a positive effect on microbiota in general. The effect of aerobic exercise training (AET) on the gut microbial environment in PD remains to be explored. Here, we performed the 16S rRNA gene sequencing on feces from sham operated-mice (sham), PD mice model, and mice receiving AET (AET).

Marker gene surveys have a wide variety of applications in species identification, population genetics, and molecular epidemiology. As these methods expand to new types of organisms and additional markers beyond 16S and 18S rRNA genes, comprehensive databases are a critical requirement for proper analysis of these data.

We investigated the presence of antibiotic resistance genes in enterococci isolates that were obtained from faecal samples of 3 hospitalized patients receiving antibiotic prophylaxis therapy, and from ileostomy effluent of 1 subject without antibiotic dosage. 16S rRNA gene sequencing and (GTG)-5 PCR were used for classification of Enterococcus spp.

Previous studies have shown that the genus Moraxella is commonly present in the nasal microbiota of swine. Results: In this study, 51 isolates of Moraxella were obtained from nasal swabs from 3 to 4 week old piglets, which represented 26 different fingerprintings by enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus (ERIC)-PCR. Whole 16S rRNA gene sequencing allowed the identification at species level of the Moraxella spp. isolates.

Gut microbes significantly contribute to nutrient digestion and absorption, intestinal health and immunity, and are essential for the survival and environmental adaptation of wild animals. However, there are few studies on the gut microbiota of captive and wild North China leopard (Panthera pardus japonensis).

Effects of Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation products (SCFP) on rumen microbiota were determined in vitro and in vivo under a high and a depressed pH. The in vitro trial determined the effects of Original XPC and NutriTek (Diamond V, Cedar Rapids, IA) at doses of 1.67 and 2.33 g/L, respectively, on the abundances of rumen bacteria under a high pH (> 6.3) and a depressed pH (5.8–6.0) using quantitative PCR (qPCR).

Between 2018 and 2020, 989 clinical specimens from pigs showing clinical signs of a variety of swine diseases in 27 provinces in China were sampled and submitted for further testing. Nested PCR targeting the 16S rRNA gene of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and subsequent sequencing were used to analyse these specimens. Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae-positive samples were assayed by multilocus sequence typing (MLST).

These isolates were screened, in vitro, according to their capacities to produce plant growth promoting substance i.e. IAA, phosphate, potassium solubilization, chitinase activities and hydrogen cyanide. Results indicated that 36 bacterial isolates showed IAA production, 25 HCN production, 57 chitinase activities, 39 phosphate and 105 potassium solubilizers.

Orthochirus sp. (Family: Buthidae) is widespread throughout the world. There are 17 species, 7 of which have been reported in Khuzestan Province of Iran, including the most diverse species related to the scorpion. In the present study, specimens of O. iranus, O. farzanpay, O. zagrosensis, and O. stockwelli were collected from different areas in this province. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted through duplicating and sequencing the cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (COXI) and 16SrRNA genes and comparing their genetic diversity.

A carboxymethylcellulose (CMC)-degrading bacterium was isolated from soil, identified as Bacillus methylotrophicus according to the physiological properties and analyses of 16S rRNA and a partial sequence of the gyrase A (gyrA) gene, and named as B. methylotrophicus Y37. The CMCase enzyme was purified to homogeneity by 20.4-fold with 21.73% recovery using single-step hydrophobic interaction chromatography and biochemically characterized. CMCase showed a molecular weight of approximately 50 kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE.

the results have shown that among twelve isolated bacterial strains, three strains were screened based on their enzymatic potential, and were later identified by 16S rRNA gene sequencing, i.e. showing that the strains belong to the genus Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Bacillus wiedmannii with a similarity percentage of 99.33% and 100%, respectively, with their corresponding type of strains.
