This paper shows the results of modeling two cases of the steel-concrete composite beam: one with single-I steel and another with double-I steel. Both cases have the same steel area. Abaqus software was used to simulate and compare the results between 2 cases in terms of bearing capacity, displacement, stress/force and failure mode.

This study presents a unified approach to simulate the behavior of rectangular concrete-filled steel stub columns incorporating high strength and ultra-high strength materials subjected to concentric axial compression. The finite element model is developed based on Abaqus software, which is capable of accounting for geometrical nonlinearity, material plasticity, and interaction between multi-physics.

This paper presents a numerical analysis of the seismic behavior of square concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) columns. Finite element analysis (FEA) models in ABAQUS software were used to simulate a series of columns subjected to axial compression and cyclic lateral loading. The CFST columns were simulated using nonlinear tri-dimensional (3-D) finite elements for the infilled concrete, and nonlinear two-dimensional (2-D) finite elements for the steel tube.

This paper focuses on numerical investigations and derived formulation to evaluate the residual strength of tension leg platforms (TLPs) with the local denting damage under axial compression loading. The damage generation scenarios in this research are represented the collision accidents of offshore stiffened cylinders TLPs with supply ships or floating subjects. The finite element model is performed using a commercial software package ABAQUS, which has been validated against the experiments from the authors and other researchers.

In this paper, the FLC of the AA6061-T6 aluminum alloy sheet is predicted by using a micro-mechanistic constitutive model. The proposed constitutive model is implemented via a vectorized user-defined material subroutine (VUMAT) and integrated with finite element code in ABAQUS/Explicit software.

(BQ) In the present study, the temperature distribution on the surface of workpiece and tool during a single discharge in the electrical discharge machining process has been simulated using ABAQUS code finite element software. The temperature dependency of material properties and the expanding of plasma channel radius with time have been employed in the simulation stage. The profile of temperature distribution has been utilized to calculate the dimensions of discharge crater.
