The presented work is devoted to the development of synthesis methods for novel 2-[(3-aminoalkyl-(alkaryl-, aryl-))-1H -1,2,4-triazolo]anilines. Abovementioned compounds were obtained via hydrazinolysis (Ing-Manske procedure) and acid hydrolysis of corresponding N -acylated{([1,2,4]triazolo[1,5- c ]quinazolin-2-yl)alkyl-(alkaryl-, aryl-)}amines. The regioselectivity of hydrazinolysis and hydrolysis were established. The features of spectral characteristics were studied and discussed.

Thiazolidinedione is a pentacyclic moiety having five membered unsaturated ring system composed with carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur molecules at 1 and 3 position of the thiazole ring and widely found throughout nature in various form. They favourably alter concentration of the hormones secreted by adipocytes, particularly adiponectin.

Multicellular organisms have evolved systems/mechanisms to detect various forms of danger, including attack by microbial pathogens and a variety of pests, as well as tissue and cellular damage. Detection via cell-surface receptors activates an ancient and evolutionarily conserved innate immune system.

In this study, the alkaline solutions (NaOH) with concentrations from 1M to 18M, red mud (RM) and silica fume (SF) were used as reactors in geopolymer reactions. RM contains 7.40% SiO2 and 13.65% Al2 O3 and SF has 94.50% SiO2 , but only the active oxides can participate in the geopolymer reactions. The activity of the oxides was investigated by determining the compressive strength of the samples under different curing conditions.

Oxygen vacancy diffusion in yttria-doped ceria (YDC) and yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) are investigated using statistical moment method, including the anharmonicity effects of thermal lattice vibrations. The expressions of oxygen vacancy-dopant association energy and oxygen vacancy migration energy are derived in an explicit form.

Tyrosinase (monophenol,L-DOPA:oxygen oxidoreductase) was isolated from the ink of the squid,Illex argentinus. Squid tyrosinase, termed ST94, was found to occur as a covalently linked homodimeric protein with a molecular mass of 140.2 kDa containing two copper atoms per a subunit. The tyrosinase activity of ST94 was enhanced by proteolysis with trypsin to form a protein, termed ST94t, with a molecular mass of 127.6 kDa.

An efficient bacterial expression system of cyanobacterium Synechocystissp. PCC 6803 heme oxygenase gene, ho-1, has been constructed, using a synthetic gene. A soluble protein was expressedat high levels and was highly purified, for the first time. The protein binds equimolar free hemin to catabolize the boundhemin to ferric-bili-verdin IXa in the presence of oxygen andreducing equivalents, showing the heme oxygenase activity. During the reaction, verdoheme intermediate is formed with the evolution of carbon monoxide. ...

The active form of the oxygen sensor fumarate nitrate reductase regulator (FNR) of Escherichia colicontains a [4Fe-4S] cluster which is converted to a [2Fe-2S] cluster after reaction with air, resulting in inactivation of FNR. Reaction of reconstituted [4Fe-4S]ÆFNR with air resulted within 5 min in conversion to apoFNR. The rate was comparable to the rate known for [4Fe-4S]ÆFNR⁄[2Fe-2S]ÆFNR cluster conversion, suggesting that apoFNR is a product of [2Fe-2S]ÆFNR decomposition and a final form of air-inacti-vated FNR in vitro. ...

In Klebsiella pneumoniae, the nif specific transcriptional activator NifA is inhibited byNifL in response tomolecular oxygen and ammonium. Here, we demonstrate complex formation between NifL and NifA (approximately 1 : 1 ratio), when synthesized in the presence of oxygen and/or ammonium. Under simultaneous oxygen- and nitrogen-limitation, significant but fewer NifL–NifA complexes (approximately 1%) were formed in the cytoplasm as a majority of NifL was sequestered to the cytoplasmic mem-brane.

In a book titled Photosynthesis it is easy to forget that light is not simply the energy driving plant metabolism. Light also is the central environmental factor that affects plant size, shape and development. In fact, light activation of photomorphogenic signaling pathways sets the stage for photosynthesis and ensures the maintenance of the apparatus. The effects of specific wavebands of light exert their influence on plant biology from the molecular level all the way up to the higher morphological level, and even contribute to the canopy form as a whole.

During high precipitation, infiltration of sulphates and chromates occurred, and subsequently when low precipitation, the aquifer without recharge becomes a confined environment favourable to a reduction of sulphates to sulphide (H2S and HS¯) by a complex biochemical process (a phenomenon called sulphatoreducing), due to the bacterial activity. Subsequently, this reduction results from the sulphur rejected (Khe´rici et al., 2009) by a sulphato-reducing bacteria (Desulfovibrio desulfricans), which can transform of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) which is a stable substance.
