This study examined whether differences in the recording of early deaths affect international comparisons of AMI in-hospital mortality by using the example of Germany and the United States, and explored approaches to address this issue.

Acute myocardial infarction may occur following cocaine abuse. Cocaine-induced infarction is particularly common in younger patients aged 18 to 45 years old. Patients may or may not have evidence of coronary artery disease at the time of symptom presentation.

Acute myocardial infarction (MI) is one of the leading causes of cardiovascular death and can experience many events during illness. The study looked at five major events including death, coronary reintervention, bleeding due to drug use, re-hospitalization, and stroke.

The current guidelines have discouraged the routine use of intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) in cardiogenic shock complicating acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Since then, the trend of IABP utilization in ACS has been declining.

Coronary artery ectasia is a rare angiographic finding and results from a disease process that compromises the integrity of the vessel wall. Its prevalence ranges between 0.3% and 5% of patients undergoing coronary angiography (Swaye et al. in Circulation 67:134–138, 1983).

Patients who experience angina and acute myocardial infarction often receive diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention. A 54-year-old Persian man with acute coronary syndrome was admitted to the hospital and underwent elective percutaneous coronary intervention.

Coronary arteries with anomalous origin are unusual but can be responsible for myocardial infarction. Acute occlusion of an anomalous coronary artery is not only easily missed on angiography but also technically challenging for percutaneous intervention.

The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive description of the variables associated with elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) levels and to evaluate the treatment results of rosuvastatin in patients diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction at Tra Vinh General Hospital throughout the period of 2021-2022.

To present a rare case with thrombus resolved with dual antiplatelet in combination with acenocoumarol. Case presentation: A 35-year-old man with a history of cerebral venous thrombosis was admitted to our hospital for an acute myocardial inferior infarction. He underwent primary percutaneous intervention of the right coronary artery with proximal to distal stent placement.

Takayasu arteritis (TA) is a systemic granulomatous vasculitis of large vessels with low incidence and nonspecific symptoms, and late diagnosis and management lead to complications such as stroke, acute myocardial infarction or peripheral ischemia. This case illustrates the complexity of TA diagnosis because its symptomatology is frequently mistaken as chronic migraine.

Currently, there is no approved guideline regarding management of patients with polycythemia vera (PCV) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) given the low prevalence. Standard maintenance therapy may be inadequate in cases where patients’ response to standard treatment show heterogeneity.

Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is the most common cyanotic congenital heart disease that has low survival rate without surgical correction. This report is about a rare case of acute ST elevation myocardial infarction in a 46-year-old patient with uncorrected TOF that was successfully treated with low-dose intracoronary thrombolysis.

Acute, perioperative myocardial infarction (MI) from acute left internal mammary artery (LIMA) to left anterior descending (LAD) graft failure immediately following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery is associated with significantly increased in-hospital mortality. The leading etiology of such acute graft failure is acute thrombosis, dissection, spasm, anastomosis failure or no-reflow phenomenon.

Acute myocardial infarction is a condition that classically presents with chest pain and corresponding biomarkers and changes on electrocardiogram. Although most causes of acute coronary syndrome are due to acute plaque rupture resulting in coronary thrombosis, an increasingly prevalent condition known as spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is becoming more commonly diagnosed. SCAD is characterized by a tear in the tunica media resulting in an intramural hematoma.

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in young patients is very rare, but the incidence has increased over years past at younger ages, likely due to the presence of multiple risk factors. We present the first known case of ST-elevation AMI (STEMI) in a young man.

Herein, we report three cases of acute myocardial infarction presenting as isolated ST-segment elevation in the posterior leads (V7–V9): Asian men aged 57, 62, and 53 years, who presented with ST-segment depression in V1–V3 that resolved gradually. Coronary angiography revealed a total/critical occlusion of the proximal circumfex coronary artery in all three cases.
