This study presents the adsorption process of methylene blue and other organic pigments in water samples using synthetic materials derived from agricultural waste combined with Fe3O4. The properties of the materials were determined through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherm.

In Vietnam, a tea-producing country, the tea buds and top three leaves are normally used for tea production while older leaves are pruned and discarded as agricultural waste in the winter. The present study aimed to exploit catechins from pruned tea leaves and use them as natural antioxidants for applications in the food industry.

Material based on hydrogel from rice-straw with high absorption capacity and slow water release was prepared by cryogenic method, using citric acid as cross-linker and without creating waste stream to the environment.
