Selective immunoglobin A deficiency (IgAD) is the most common immunodeficiency disorder in the western world. Cancer is the most common cause of death in these individuals. Various cases have been reported of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in IgAD at sites like skin, oral cavity, and lung.

Anal cancer is primarily treated using concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT), with conformal techniques such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and volumetric arc therapy (VMAT) now being the standard techniques utilised across the world.

Leukocyte subtyping predicts for treatment failure and poor survival in anal squamous cell carcinoma
Anal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) generally carries a favourable prognosis, as most tumors are highly sensitive to standard of care chemoradiation. However, outcomes are poor for the 20–30% of patients who are refractory to this approach, and many will require additional invasive procedures with no guarantee of disease resolution.

The incidence of anal squamous cell carcinoma has been increasing, particularly in people living with HIV (PLWH). There is concern that radiosensitizing drugs, such as protease inhibitors, commonly used in the management of HIV, may increase toxicities in patients undergoing chemoradiation.

To appraise the role of volumetric modulated arc (RapidArc, RA) in the treatment of anal canal carcinoma (ACC). Methods: A retrospective analysis has been conducted on 36 patients treated with RA since 2009 comparing outcome against a group of 28 patients treated with conformal therapy (CRT).

Organ-preserving chemo-radiotherapy (CRT) is the standard of care for non-metastatic anal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The optimal dosing schedules are yet to be determined. To improve local control rates, dose escalation has been investigated but found to not increase efficacy at the expense of increased toxicity for an unselected patient population.

The squamous cell carcinoma of the anus (SCCA) is a rare disease, but its incidence is markedly increasing. About 15% of patients are diagnosed at metastatic stage, and more than 20% with a localized disease treated by chemoradiotherapy (CRT) will recur.

The incidence of anal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) has been steadily growing globally in the past decade. Clinical data on anal SCC from China are rare. We conducted this study to describe the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of anal SCC in China and explore prognostic factors of outcomes among patients with anal SCC.

Anal canal cancer occasionally accompanies extramammary Paget disease. Although most of them are squamous cell carcinoma, anal canal adenocarcinoma with neuroendocrine features accompanying secondary extramammary Paget disease has never been reported.

Squamous cell carcinoma in situ, also called Bowen disease, is the earliest form of squamous cell skin cancer. “In situ” means that the cells of these cancers are still only in the epidermis and have not invaded the dermis. Bowen disease appears as reddish patches. Compared with actinic keratoses, Bowen disease patches tend to be larger (sometimes over 1/2 inch across), redder, scalier, and sometimes crusted. Like invasive squamous cell skin cancers, the major risk factor is too much sun exposure. Bowen disease can also occur in the skin of the anal and genital areas.
