The present experiment with different isolates of Azotobacter sp. was carried out to find out effective isolate for plant growth promoting activities and biological control. In case of in vitro screening for plant growth promoting efficacy, it was found that chilli seeds bacterized with AZT8 exhibited the highest per cent seed germination (98%) which was followed by AZT6 (86 %) and AZT4 (81%).

Organic vegetable cultivation is a present day need not only to meet the demand of export oriented produce and to reduce cost of cultivation but also to protect the environment. In the present investigation four widely studied PGPMs viz., Azotobacter sp. (UBAZ-1), phosphate solubilising bacteria (UBPS-9), Trichoderma sp. (UBT-18) and Pseudomonas fluorescens (VPf-1) were evaluated for their ability either individually or in consortia to induce the physical and biochemical fitness of the bell pepper (Capsicum annum) transplants.

Integration of different methods for suitable management of Fusarium wilt revealed that the minimum disease severity was found in case of soil application with Mushroom spent + combined seedling treatment with T. harzianum, Azotobacter and Rhizobium + first foliar application with Benfil (Carbendazim) + second foliar application with Matco (Metalaxyl + Mancozeb), representing the value 6.50% as against 54.65 per cent in case of control. Growth promoting effect of plants has also been noticed due to application of IDM practices.

Azotobacter is an aerobic, free living bacteria fixes atmospheric nitrogen in soil besides producing plant growth promoting substance. Eight Azotobacter isolates were isolated and purified from different tasar rearing regions of West Singhbhoom, Jharkhand on Jenson media by using serial dilution technique. Molecular diversity among these isolates was analysed using RAPD primers.

The present investigation was carried out at the experimental field of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir during the years 2014-15 and 2015-16 to study the combined effect of nitrogen (0, 75, 150 kg ha-1 ), phosphorus (0, 50, 100kg ha-1 ) and biofertilizers (no inoculants, Azotobacter sp., Bacillus sp., Pseudomonas sp. and Glomus sp.) on macro and micro nutrient uptake in strawberry. The experiment was laid out in completely randomised design (factorial) with 45 treatment combinations and 5 replications.

The field experiments were conducted at Nematology field, ICR Farm, AAU., Jorhat during 2016 and 2017 to know the efficacy of bioagent, P. fluorescens and biofertilizer, Azotobacter sp. for that P. fluorescens and Azotobacter sp. were enriched in the substrates like farmyard manure, vermicompost and enriched compost. After enrichment of P. fluorescens and Azotobacter sp. were applied singly and in combination at the rate of 1% per hectare (ha). These treatments were compared with untreated control. It was recorded that the combined application of P. fluorescens and Azotobacter sp.

Field demonstration trials on efficacy of Pseudomonas fluorescens and Azotobacter sp. against Meloidogyne incognita were carried out in six different farmers’ fields viz., Namtemera, Kakodunga, Naromari and Misimiati in Golaghat district, Kamalabari in Majuli district and Dichangmukh in Sivasagar district of Assam that were infested by root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita. The farmers of each location were educated with the demonstration technique of enrichment and soil application methods of P. fluorescens and Azotobacter sp.

A total of forty rhizosphere soil samples were collected from different locations of Bengaluru urban district, Karnataka and used for isolation of PGPRs by standard dilution plate method. Seventy bacterial isolates were selected, purified and were examined for morphological characters like colony morphology, cell shape, Gram reaction. Isolates were diverse in their morphology ranging from dull to milky white, rough to smooth margins, viscous, small to large, non-spreading and spreading.

Nhà máy bia Việt Nam (VBL) thải ra lượng bùn khô khoảng 6 tấn/ngày, bùn thải có thành phần nitơ tổng 1,86%, photpho tổng 7,17%, kali 0,108%, Zn 856,89 mg/kg, Cu 89,60 mg/kg, Ni 43,20 mg/kg, Pb 8,88 mg/kg, Mn 93,55 mg/kg, Co 2,99 mg/kg, Fe 2800 mg/kg và Cr 200,46 mg/kg. Bùn thải này được tận dụng như vật liệu thô làm phân vi sinh cố định đạm. Với các chủng Rhizobium sp.: RH1, RH2, RH3, RH4 và Azotobacter sp. sau 2 tuần ủ trên chất mang có tỷ lệ phối trộn bùn thải:than bùn là 3:1, có độ ẩm 45%, pH = 7, nhiệt độ phòng, với lượng giống 40 ml/100 g.

A total of 21 bacterial isolates (Azotobacter sp., 10 and fluorescent Pseudomonas sp., 11) were isolated from different rhizospheric soils in the vicinity of Aligarh city and characterized as per standard methods. These isolates were further tested for the production of indole acetic acid (IAA) in a medium with 0, 1, 2 and 5 mg/ml of tryptophan.
