The outcomes are to be compared with typical drugs given that compounds are examined against gram-positive and gram-negative strains of bacteria and fungus. Against bacterial strains, products with nitro, methyl, and bromo substituents in the p-position of the benzene ring, as well as products with the nitro group at the m-position, showed very excellent activities against bacterial strains, while compounds with chloro substituent at p-position and m-position demonstrated good activity against the fungal strains Aspergillus niger and Fusarium javanicum.

The research article "Polyester production by halophilic and halotolerant bacterial strains obtained from mangrove soil samples located in Northern Vietnam" reports halophilic and halotolerant bacteria isolated from mangrove forests located in Northern Vietnam. Several of these bacteria were able to synthesize polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs). PHAs are polyesters stored by microorganisms under the presence of considerable amounts of a carbon source and deficiency of other essential nutrient such as nitrogen or phosphorous.

In the present work "Poly(3-Hydroxybutyrate-co-3-Hydroxyvalerate) Production by a Moderate Halophile Yangia sp. ND199 Using Glycerol as a Carbon Source", we have evaluated the cell growth and PHA production by Yangia sp. ND199 on different carbon sources in the saline medium and subsequently continued the studies on PHA accumulation using glycerol as carbon source.

the results have shown that among twelve isolated bacterial strains, three strains were screened based on their enzymatic potential, and were later identified by 16S rRNA gene sequencing, i.e. showing that the strains belong to the genus Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Bacillus wiedmannii with a similarity percentage of 99.33% and 100%, respectively, with their corresponding type of strains.

This study presents a new halophilic bacterial strain named Yangia sp. ND 218 which was isolated from the Giao Thuy mangrove, Nam Dinh Province, Vietnam which grew and accumulated PHA in a high salt medium. The possibility of designing an open (unsterile) fermentation process using Yangia sp. ND 218 was investigated.

The bioflocculation efficiency was depended on the pH, carbon sources, the initial algae concentrations, bacteria strains, and the inital bioflocculant-producing bacteria concentrations. The temperature lightly affected the bioflocculation, no noticeable behavioral or activity changes were observed in mice that were orally administrated with four bacterial strains, and no treatment-related illness or death occurred after 72 hours.

Only 2% of the known natural products with acetylenic bonds area-alkynoates. Their polarized, conjugated triple bond is an optimal target for an enzymic hydration. Therefore they are good substrates for the enzymes involved in metabolism of acetylenic compounds, resulting in products that are suitable for bacterial growth. A gene encoding a eugenol oxidase was identified in the genome fromRho-dococcus sp. strain RHA1. The bacterial FAD-containing oxidase shares 45% amino acid sequence identity with vanillyl alcohol oxidase from the fungus Penicillium simplicissimum. Eugenol oxidase could be expressed at high levels in Escherichia coli, which allowed purification of 160 mg of eugenol oxidase from 1 L of culture. Gel permeation experiments and macromolecular MS revealed that the enzyme forms homodimers.
