  • In this study, a control system is proposed for the induction servomotor to achieve the highprecision speed tracking based on wavelet fuzzy cerebellar model articulation controller. In this proposed scheme, the wavelet fuzzy cerebellar model articulation controller (WFCMAC) is used to imitate an ideal controller due to it incorporates the advantages of the wavelet decomposition property with a fuzzy CMAC fast learning ability and the smooth compensator controller with bound estimation is designed to attenuate the effect of the approximation error caused by the WFCMAC approximator.

  • Vocabulary builder - Course 2 program uses a systematic approach to building students’ vocabulary by presenting words in context or information about word parts to help students unlock word meanings independently, and by requiring students to apply their knowledge of new words in reading and writing exercises. Each book in the seven book series is designed for a specific reading level and features readings from the humanities, social studies, and sciences, vocabulary from Greek and Latin roots, assessment after each writing assigment, and a section on taking standardized tests.

  • Chapter 14 looks at models of collaboration and group interaction. We begin this chapter by looking at human communication. Effective communication clearly underlies much collaborative work and many systems aim to support communication at a distance. Face-to-face communication is often seen as the ideal to which computer-mediated communication should aim.

  • Breaking bad news (BBN) to patients and their relatives is a complex and stressful task. The ideal structure, training methods and assessment instruments best used to teach and assess BBN for anesthesiology residents remain unclear. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of an education intervention for BBN based on immersive experiences with a high fidelity simulator and role-play with standardized patients (SPs).

  • Post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression can be achieved through the control of mRNA stability, cytoplasmic compartmentalization, 3′ UTR length and translational efficacy. Spermiogenesis, a process through which haploid male germ cells differentiate into spermatozoa, represents an ideal model for studying posttranscriptional regulation in vivo because it involves a large number of transcripts that are physically sequestered in ribonucleoprotein particles (RNPs) and thus subjected to delayed translation.

  • Quantitative structure activity relationship analyses were used to identify the ideal physicochemical characteristics of potential chalcone derivatives as anti-Leishmania agents. The HyperChem program was used to build chalcone structures and to perform conformational analyses through the semiempirical method followed by the PM3 force field. Dragon calculated a large number of molecular descriptors. Multilinear regression was used for quantitative structure activity relationship modeling.

  • The present paper develops a polynomial chaos expansion (PCE)-based surrogate model for characterizing the microstructure-properties relationships of acoustic monodisperse foams. First, the acoustic properties of the considered structures are estimated numerically by homogenization techniques using an idealized periodic unit cell and the Johnson-Champoux-Allard-Pride-Lafarge (JCAPL) model.

  • Salvia L. is an ideal exemplar to demonstrate prezygotic isolation mechanisms in sympatric populations due to their wellknown staminal lever mechanism. Mechanical, phenological, and ethological isolation mechanisms have been reported among sympatric species of Salvia. However, it has been shown that if closely related species are sympatric and flower at the same time, they can potentially hybridize. In this study, we describe two new hybrid species of Salvia (S. × karamanensis Celep & B.T.Drew, and S. × doganii Celep & B.T.Drew) from Turkey based on morphological and molecular evidence.

  • Tuning the selective sorption features of microporous organic networks is of great importance for subsequent applications in gas uptake and hiding, while it is more attractive in terms of being both time and cost effective to realize these optimizations without using functional groups in the core and linker. “Knitting” is one of the easiest and most used method to obtain a broad scope of hyper-crosslinked polymers on a large scale from aromatic structures that do not contain functional groups for polymerization.

  • A new technique for sensing Ga(III) concentration based on polyvinyl alcohol-citrate capped gold nanoparticle–p-aminohippuric acid hybrid (or three-layer core-shell configurations) has been demonstrated. The p-aminohippuric acid capped citrate-gold nanoparticles were comfortably agglomerated in the presence of Ga(III), and the color of the reaction quickly turned from red to violet or blue. Under the detection conditions, a good linear relationship was ideally obtained between the ratio of the absorbance intensity at 620 nm to that at 520 nm (A620/A520).

  • Bladder cancer (BC) is a common malignancy neoplasm diagnosed in advanced stages in most cases. It is crucial to screen ideal biomarkers and construct a more accurate prognostic model than conventional clinical parameters. The aim of this research was to develop and validate an mRNA-based signature for predicting the prognosis of patients with bladder cancer.

  • Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) plays an increasingly important role in clinical practice and public health. Due to the big data size, WGS data analysis is usually compute-intensive and IO-intensive. Currently it usually takes 30 to 40 h to finish a 50× WGS analysis task, which is far from the ideal speed required by the industry. Furthermore, the high-end infrastructure required by WGS computing is costly in terms of time and money. In this paper, we aim to improve the time efficiency of WGS analysis and minimize the cost by elastic cloud computing.
