Brain metastasis is common in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and it is associated with poorer prognosis. Several options to control the secondary brain tumors in the context include chemotherapy, whole-brain radiation, stereotactic surgery, surgery. However, chemotherapy is ineffective to those patients because of poor penetration through the blood-brain barrier. Whole-brain radiation therapy used to be a standard option for brain metastases.

Although mammography is accepted as the gold standard for screening, a blood-based diagnostic can complement mammography and assist in the accurate detection of BC in the diagnostic process period of early diagnosis. The microvessels area (MVA), derived from microvascular proliferation, is a biomarker useful for highgrade glioma classifcation. Nevertheless, its measurement is costly, labor-intense, and invasive. In this study, we conducted experiments to determine mRNA expression of above genes in PV patients by realtime-PCR and CA125 concentration by ELISA. Results showed that expression of klotho, LAG3, CTLA-4 and PD-1 genes was decreased in PV patients, indicating that the immune tolerance was inactivated in PV patients.

PSA (prostate-specific antigen), the most useful serum marker for prostate cancer, is encoded by thehKLK3gene and is present in the serumas amixture of several molecular species. We purified pancreatic deoxyribonucleases I (DNases I) from three snakes, Elaphe quadrivirgata, Elaphe climaco-phoraandAgkistrodon blomhoffii, and cloned their cDNAs. Each mature snake DNase I protein comprised 262 amino acids. Wild-type snake DNases I with Leu130 were more thermally unstable than wild-type mammalian and avian DNases I with Ile130. Type I antifreeze proteins (AFPs) are usually small, Ala-richa-helical poly-peptides found in right-eyed flounders and certain species of sculpin. These proteins are divided into two distinct subclasses, liver type and skin type, which are encoded by separate gene families.
