This study was designed for the first time to analyze clinical efficacy of bone transport technology in Chinese older patients with infectious bone nonunion after open tibial fracture. Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed 220 older patients with infectious bone nonunion after open tibial fracture. There were 110 patients receiving bone transport technology (Group A) and 110 patients receiving membrane induction technique with antibiotic bone cement (Group B).

It is a well-known fact that more that 90% of global trade is accomplished through shipping and shipping is the back bone of international trade. Without shipping the transport of essential commodities across the globe on a scale necessary to sustain the world is yet to be discovered.

Distraction osteogenesis using the Ilizarov external circular fixator has been applied in lower limb reconstructive surgery widely. The increasing ankle osteoarthritis (OA) progression and severity are often associated with the period of external fixator and the greater relative instability of the ankle joint, but few studies have quantified risk factors directly during this technique.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment of fibular osteomyelitis by Ilizarov bone transport. Our study suggested that Ilizarov bone transport may be a good choice for the treatment of fibular osteomyelitis, especially for the patient with distal fibular loss.

The Ilizarov segmental bone transport technique can be applied in the reconstruction of the bone defects with less invasive fashion and more versatility compared to other methods, while most studies were focused on the lower extremity. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Ilizarov segmental bone transport technique in the treatment of diaphyseal forearm bone defects caused by infection.

Tibia infected nonunion and chronic osteomyelitis are challenging clinical presentations. Bone transportation with external or hybrid fixators (combined external and internal fixators) is versatile to solve these problems. However, the infection-free rates of these fixator systems are unknown.

Bone transport is used for the treatment of extensive limb bone defects. The application of ring or unilateral external fixators combined with single or double corticotomy are well documented; however, there are few cases adopting a single corticotomy to repair bone defects > 24 cm.

The treatment for infected tibial bone defects can be a great challenge for the orthopaedic surgeon. This meta-analysis was conducted to compare the safety and efficacy between bone transport (BT) and the acute shortening technique (AST) in the treatment of infected tibial bone defects.

Retraction of transporting bone segment (TBS) may occur when the fixator of the TBS is removed prior to full consolidation of the distracted callus, which has adverse effect on the healing of the docking site. However, there are few reports on the retraction of TBS.

Osteosarcoma is the most common malignant bone tumor in children. Survival remains poor among histologically poor responders, and there is a need to identify them at diagnosis to avoid delivering ineffective therapy. Genetic variation contributes to a wide range of response and toxicity related to chemotherapy.

Iron overload has recently been associated with the changes in the bone microstructure that occur in osteoporosis. However, the effect of iron overload on osteoblasts is unclear. The purpose of this study was to explore the function of divalent metal transporter 1 (DMT1) in the pathological processes of osteoporosis.

Osteopontin(OPN) is an arginine-glycine-aspartate (RGD)-contain-ing adhesive glycoprotein that was first identified as a major sialo-protein in bone and subsequently found to be expressed in kidney, brain, macrophages, vascular smooth muscle cells and many cells of epithelial linings. In this study we examined the expression of OPN in MDCK cells in different cellular confluences.

Most raw ingredients will be labelled in bags, boxes or jars if in shipments, warehouses or in storerooms of pharmacies and retail outlets. The first step to identifying an ingredient is to compare the Roman, pinyin and/or Chinese characters to the name list in this guide. It is a matter of comparison and familiarisation with the characters and pinyin. If raw ingredients are not labelled and not obviously of interest (such as an animal horn or bones), it is best to refer to an expert or accept that identification is probably not possible.

The storage of tissue-engineered products is an attractive target for technological development. Since tissue-engineered products usually consist of living cells, technical issues include the limited shelf life of the cells and the use of specialized conditions for transportation. Without storage, treatment with cells requires timely harvesting from the donor, which significantly affects the availability of tissue-engineered products.
