In this study, we tested the ability of a specific culture medium supplemented with a cytokine cocktail to increase the number of total MNCs and thereby enrich CD34+UCHSCs. In addition, we investigated the effects of the bioactive peptide SL-13R on the proliferation of CD34+UC-HSCs at different culture time points and peptide doses.

This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of Cobalt chloride (CoCl2) on cardiac mitochondrial function in an in vitro model. In the study, H9C2 cardiomyocytes were cultured in a medium containing different concentrations of CoCl2. Cell viability, cardiolipin content, mitochondrial function, and mitochondrial oxidative stress were assessed by using Cell Counting Kit-8 and suitable fluorescence kits.

Deproteinated cheese whey was used for biomass production of probiotic strain Lactobacillus helveticus MTCC 5463 in a biofermenter. Optimization of growth parameters such as temperature, pH and time of incubation as well as nutrient supplementation of cheese whey was carried out using response surface methodology (RSM). Preparation and characterisation of attenuated cold-adapted influenza A reassortants derived from the A/Leningrad/134/17/57 donor strain presents the assay was capable of detecting interference where the infectivity ratio for A/Len/17 and A/Beij/32 was 1:7. Ouabain, a sodiumpump (Na + /K + -ATPase) inhibitor, has been shown to act as a hormone and is possibly involved in the pathogenesis of hypertension. The mechanismby which ouabain may act was investigated using primary cultures of human umbilical artery endothelial cells (HUAECs), which are known to express and release the vasoconstrictive hor-mone endothelin (ET-1). Fiveminutes after application, low concentrations of ouabain induced Ca 2+ oscillations and stimulated ET-1 release from endothelial cells into the medium.

A 140-kDa soluble form of the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor has been isolated from the culture medium of HepG2 cells and a number of other cell types.
