Childhood acute leukemia

Treatment outcome of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in children has shown an improvement. However, relapse of disease is still a big protslen in developing countries. This study aimed to analyze the percentage and survival rate of relapsed in patients with childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia treated at Hue Central Hospital, Vietnam, during the period of January 2012 - April 2018.

Hue Central Hospital (HCH) plays a key role intreating Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in the central zone of Vietnam which covers geographically vast areas. Before 2010, all the AML patients died, and abandonment rate was more than 50%.The aims of this study are to determine the outcome of newly diagnosed children with AML treated at HCH from 2010 to 2018.

Acute leukemia is the most commont cancer in children and is curable if correctly diagnosed and effectively treated. The diagnosis and accurate cloning of acute leukemia play an important role in the treatment results for regimens and prognosis between two myeloid and lymphoid completely different.

Worldwide, childhood cancer is rare. In addition, a distinct variation in incidence, type distribution and the demographics. We conducted a study on the epidemiology of childhood cancer at Central Zone of Vietnam, in two hospitals: Hue Central Hospital and Danang Hospital of Women and Children, during the period of April 2014 - July 2019.
