Pineapple and coconut are part of the largest commodities in Indonesia. In this study, extracts of pineapple skin and coconut water were used as a novel fermentation substrate in bioethanol production by Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Those were used as raw materials contain sugar, which makes it a potential medium for bioethanol fermentation.

Anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz. is the major problem of harvested mango for domestic markets and for export. Control of anthracnose disease is currently based on the application of fungicides. However, it was reported that there are some chemical residues of chemical in mango and in the environment.

In this study, phenol was adsorbed by commercial coconut shell charcoal (CSC), which is inexpensive, commercially available, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. The measurements, namely the density functional theory (DFT) calculation, the energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), were conducted to characterize the features of the CSC.

Pulsed light is an emerging non thermal processing technology used for food decontamination. A laboratory scale pulsed light treatment chamber was designed and fabricated. In this study, tender coconut water was exposed to pulsed light to inactivate the E. coli using different process parameter such as juice layer depth (5, 10, 15 and 20mm), shelf height (5, 10 and 15cm) and number of pulses (60, 120, 180 and 240 flashes) corresponding to an fluency of 4.8, 9.6, 14.4 and 19.2J/cm2 .

The penetration depth of UV light in coconut water is more because of the UV absorption coefficient of coconut water is less, thus it facilitates UV rays to pass through it. By considering all above factors, the present study was aimed to study the effect of UV-C treatment on some physicochemical properties of tender coconut water.

An investigation was carried out to find out the effect of water soluble fertilizers on growth of orchid (Phalaenopsis Hybrid) cv. Shagan at BTCC, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha during the period January 2016 to March 2017. The tissue cultured orchid plantlets were planted in pots containing potting mixture comprising of coal and coconut fibre, in equal proportion.

Being a tropical delicious fruit papaya is favored due to its yellowish orange colored soft sweet ripe pulp as well as green fruit as culinary purpose. The plant is commonly propagated by seeds and the seed germination is greatly affected by seed treatment to overcome barrier of germination from sarcotesta as well as the inhibitors present beneath the seed coat. In the present experiment seeds of Ranchi variety were soaked for 24 hours in the solutions of coconut water @ 50%, tomato juice @ 20%, cow urine @ 20%, GA3 @ 200ppm, NAA @ 200ppm, KNO3 @ 0.

In the present study, experimental investigation on thermal conductivity of green nanofluids prepared from coconut fibre-based nanoparticles and suspended in 60:40 ethylene glycol (EG) water (W) mixture was carried out. The measurement of thermal conductivity was conducted at 15 °C to 60 °C at mass fractions of 0.04 wt%, 0.08 wt%, 0.5 wt% and 1 wt%. The results show deterioration in thermal conductivity with an increasing temperature. Also the deterioration increased as the mass fraction increased.

The low cost alternative components of tissue culture media were evaluated for their potential to supply nutrients and to support growing explant of Banana cultivar in vitro for their cost effectiveness against conventional high cost media. The Murashigeand Skoog (MS) salts and sucrose were replaced by vermicompost (50 g/L), table sugar (30 g/L) and coconut water (70 ml/L), and agar was replaced by filter paper, sand and wheat floor. The conventional MS medium supplemented with 30 g/L sucrose and 8 g/L agar was used as control.

Performance of a column bed device packed with specially fabricated Plaster of Paris (POP) pellets was evaluated for the removal of a potentially toxic Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) Pyrene (Pyr). The effect of initial Pyr concentration, flow rate, and adsorbent dosage was investigated on Pyr adsorption characteristics of two types of pellets (uncoated and adsorbent coated). Maximum Bed capacity (Mb), percentage removal and equilibrium Pyr uptake were calculated and breakthrough curves were plotted.

In vermicomposting, variation in particle size, palatability and metabolites of solid organic wastes may influence the performance of earthworm as well as quality of its final product. Therefore, the study was taken to characterize the vermicomposts prepared from two different sources i.e. water hyacinth and coconut leaf respectively. Vermicompost of water hyacinth and coconut leaf showed almost similar pH and EC values by Jackson method (1973) but these showed higher in FCO method (1985). CEC value for both vermicompost was 74.20 and 72.60 cmol (+) kg-1 .

It was reported that water resources and ground water reduces day by day but its consumption in different sector increases rapidly. In India agriculture is largest water consumer (81%) sector (WRI, 2007) and use of water in an efficient way is demand of time. It has been scientifically recognized that adoption of drip fertigation method is an option for efficient use of water and nutrients through improvement in crop yield per unit volume of water and nutrients used (Bar-Yosef, 1999; Patel and Rajput, 2011).

Chickpea seeds were bioprimed with 13 treatments combinations (Trichoderma viride@10gm/kg, Pseudomonas fluroscence@10gm/kg, Neem leaf extract@10ml/kg, Tulasi leaf extract@10ml/kg, Coconut water@10ml/kg, Azospirillum@10ml/kg). Among the above treatments tested, the treatment combination of Trichoderma viride + Pseudomonas fluroscence@10ml/kg shows the highest plant height (40.9), Number of primary branches (6.
