A study was conducted to investigate the chemical and mineral composition of cultivars belonging to four different genomic groups. Results revealed that B genome rich cultivar, Karpuravalli (ABB), had higher dry matter and starch, less moisture, total soluble solids, titratable acidity, total and reducing sugars, when compared with A genome rich cultivar, Robusta (AAA) and Poovan (AAB). Similarly cultivars with B genome had higher nitrogen, lesser calcium, potassium, zinc and iron, while mixed influence was noticed with regard to minerals like phosphorus and magnesium.

For dietary status, growth, development and health, optimal feeding procedures are needed for infants and young children. In order to meet the difference in dietary demands transition foods need to be included in the diet. Diet diversity refers to all food groups being included in the diet. To assess food intake, a food intake questionnaire and a dietary recall method lasting 24 hours were used. Using the seven food groups, diet variety was calculated. ANOVA was used to compare means. Sixty infants and young children have been engaged in these studies.

An extensive survey was carried out to record feeding practices and nutritional status of lactating buffaloes in Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana state. The survey was conducted during rabi season (January, 2019 - February, 2019). Twelve villages, representing all the blocks of the district were selected for this survey. Samples of feeds, fodder, milk, hair and blood were collected from five families from each category of farmers i.e. belonging to landless category and farmers with land holding in a village. Thus a total of 120 lactating buffaloes were selected for the study.

Adolescence is the transition period between childhood and adulthood, a window of opportunity for the improvement of nutritional status and correcting poor dietary practices. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines an adolescent as any person between ages 10 and 19. The present was conducted to study the dietary practices and nutritional awareness of adolescent girls of Mahabubnagar district Telangana. Findings showed that when compared to urban adolescents, rural adolescents were less consuming green leafy vegetables and fruits.

Rhizobacterial strains having plant growth promoting hormone can helps in promoting plant growth and mitigates adverse conditions. Keeping in view of their positive impact, present study was undertaken to identify the Salt Tolerant Rhizobacteria (STR) having IAA production activity. Out of 300 bacteria from the mustard rhizospheric soil 25 could able to grow at 10% NaCl medium termed as STR were assessed for their plant growth promoting hormones. Bacterial strains (STR PGP) B1, B14, B17 and B25 identified as genus Enterobacter showing IAA production ranges from 1 - 3 µg/ml.

An experiment was carried out during Kharif 2014 and 2015 at Krishi Vigyana Kendra (KVK), Bidar, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, Karnataka, India to assess the sulphur and born nutrition on chemical properties of soil after harvest of soybean under rainfed situation of Northern Karnataka.
