The study "Biochar mitigates salt stress by regulating nutrient uptake and antioxidant activity, alleviating the oxidative stress and abscisic acid content in cabbage seedlings" was conducted as factorial completely randomized design with two factors; salinity levels (0 and 150 mM NaCl) and biochar doses (weighed at the rate of 0%, 2.5%, and 5% by soil weight). Growth parameters such as stem diameter, leaf area, shoot fresh weight, root fresh weight, shoot dry weight, and root dry weight of cabbage seedlings treated with 150 mM NaCl were lower than the control.

A complete liquid phase technology and a function regulator were applied to prepare CuZnAl catalysts for higher alcohol synthesis. Characterizations showed that the introduction of the function regulator can change the reduction ability of copper oxides and the surface basicity of catalysts. Activity tests indicated that the selectivity of higher alcohol is high when considerable medium-strong basicity and the synergistic effects of copper ion and metal copper exist on the catalytic surface.

Brachystemin A (1) is a biologically active peptide from a Chinese traditional plant Brachystemma calycinum D. Don. (Caryophyllaceae). The current study describes the complete solid-phase total synthesis of peptide 1 by using Kenner’s sulfonamide safety-catch linker strategy. It was identified by QTOF/MS data and NMR studies. Synthetic peptide 1 was tested for its immunomodulatory effect on different inflammatory parameters, including production of inflammatory cytokines, interleukin 2 (IL-2), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and generation of nitric oxide (NO.).

Anaerobic ammonium oxidizing bacteria (anammox bacteria) are contributing significantly to the nitrogen cycle and are successfully used in wastewater treatment. Due to the lack of complete genomes in the databases, little is known about the stability and variability of their genomes and how the genomes evolve in response to changing environments.

Alanine: Glyoxylate aminotransferase 2 (AGXT2; EC 2.6.1.44) is the only enzyme that degrades the R-form of 3-aminoisobutyrate, an intermediate metabolite of thymine. AGXT2, as well as diaminoarginine dimethylaminohydrolase 1 (DDAH1; EC 3.5.3.18), works as an enzyme that degrades asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), which competitively inhibits the nitric oxide synthase family.

The complete treatment of colors and hazardous substances at a reasonable cost is of particular interest in the textile industry. In this batch form study, dye solution and textile dyeing wastewater were successfully treated by Fenton technology combining Moving Bed Reactor/Activated carbon (Fenton-MBR/AC) system. The optimum operating conditions including 3.5 of pH value, 0.5 of Fe/H2O2 ratio, 25mL of H2O2 (30%) solution, and 200mL of sample were found. After 60 min, the color removal and efficiency of COD treatment was 94% and 89%, respectively.

Vermicomposting is a cost–effective and eco-friendly process used to treat organic waste. Vermicompost is nutrient rich organic compost with active microorganisms resulting from the interaction between earthworm and microorganisms on the breakdown of organic matter. Earthworms convert the waste material in to small particles by breaking in the gut of earth worm obtaining nutrients from the microbes that harbor on them.

In this paper, oxidation of red methyl (MR) - an azo in dye by UV / H2O2 was studied. The effect of solution volume and initial concentration was studied. Under optimal conditions, project a UV light through the bottom of the solution containing MR. The rate of color change is proportional to the increase of H2O2 concentration. After 50 minutes, the decolorization effect with 16 ppm H2O2 is 38%, slightly higher than the content of 14 ppm H2O2.

The present experiment was conducted to study the effect of feeding fermented dried feed with avian specific Lactobacillus species and Bacillus subtilis in broiler birds. Two hundred and fifty one day old mixed sex commercial (Venn Cobb) broiler chicks were randomly distributed into five groups (Gr 1, Gr 2, Gr 3, Gr 4 and Gr 5) of 50 birds each by following completely randomized block design. Each group, comprised of five replicated pens (n=5) and each replicate contained ten broiler chickens.
