In this paper, a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method is employed to classify the crack/noncrack aerial images captured on the surface of concrete structures. The CNN model was trained and validated using the available experimental data of 4000 previously published images.

The objective of this study was to establish a standard experimental model to determine the removal rate constants of wastewater pollutants in subsurface flow–constructed wetlands. This result shows the applicability of the proposed experimental model and procedure to determine the contaminant removal rate constants in constructed wetlands uniformly.

This study evaluates the effectiveness of using crushed construction and demolition waste as reactive media for applying in Permeable Reactive Barriers to treat contaminated groundwater by landfill leachate. Modern analytical methods such as SEM and EDX were used to analyze the physicochemical properties of crushed demolition waste, demonstrating that the material has a porous structure on the surface that is suitable for the targeted heavy metal adsorption.

Treating dredged sediment is a complex processing and ongoing challenge. To utilize dredged sediment for the landfill or construction purposes, a material fabricated from a mixture of dredged sediment, Portland cement, and fly ash, was cured under room temperature and hydrothermal condition at 180 °C and 0.9 MPa pressure for 16 hours. The response surface methodology was used to evaluate the compressive strength of the material, with the range of factors investigated being the dredged sediments/solid ratio (0.3 - 0.9), cement/fly ash ratio (2 - 4), and water/solid ratio (0.45 - 0.55).

The study results show inter-relationships and transformations of the three indicators in the research context, where urban land temperature and Urban Heat Island (UHI) are raised by built-up areas and in contrast, reduced by vegetated areas. As a result, urban green space would be a driver to mitigate the harmful impact of the "heat island" effect in urban areas. Aim to strengthen concentrated green areas and vegetation in land areas that are less favorable for construction.

The document will be structured as follows: In Chapter 2 outline the methodology, discussing the computational techniques used to evaluate the interaction energies and evaluating the construction of the TT and D3(BJ) correction terms. Chapter 3 attempts to establish a foundational understanding of how these methods model vdW interactions by evaluating the performance of the corrected and uncorrected HF and DFT methods in comparison with CCSD(T) energies for a selection of inert gas dimers, and simple molecule-molecule interactions.

In mathematics, a conic section (or just conic) is a curve obtained as the intersection of a cone (more precisely, a right circular conical surface) with a plane. In this paper "Some new identities on the conic sections", we construct some new identities and proposed the concept of the power of a point with respect to a conic.

In this thesis, we study some results of f-minimal surfaces in product spaces with the following purposes: State the relation between the f-minimal surfaces and the selfsimilar solutions of the mean curvature flow; state some properties of the f-minimal surfaces in the product spaces; construct some Bernstein type theorems, halfspace type theorems for f-minimal (f-maximal) surfaces in product spaces; state some results on the higher codimensional f-minimal surfaces.

A database consisting of 23 tripeptides was used to study the quantitative relationships between electric surface potential descriptors and antioxidant activity QESARs. The important structural descriptors SaaNH_acnt, SsOH_acnt, SaaN, SaaN_acnt, SsssCH, SaaaC, SsNH3p, SdO, SdO_acnt were selected for constructing the linear models QESARs with genetic algorithm. The best 4-variable linear model QESARlinear including the structural descriptors SaaN, SdO, SdO_acnt and SsOH_acnt was constructed. The quality QESARlinear was exhibited in statistical values R2 fitness of 97.

Numerous innovations in high-throughput protein production and micro-array surface technologies have enabled the development of addressable formats for proteins ordered at high spatial density. Protein array imple-mentations have largely focused on antibody arrays for high-throughput protein profiling. However, it is also possible to construct arrays of full-length, functional proteins from a library of expression clones.

Crystalline arrays of protein or glycoprotein subunits forming surface layers (S-layers) are the most common outermost envelope components of prokaryotic organisms (archaea and bacteria). The wealth of information on the structure, chemistry, genetics, morphogenesis, and function of S-layers has revealed a broad application potential.

D. Mumford conjectured in [33] that the rational cohomology of the stable moduli space of Riemann surfaces is a polynomial algebra generated by certain classes κi of dimension 2i. For the purpose of calculating rational cohomology, one may replace the stable moduli space of Riemann surfaces by BΓ∞ , where Γ∞ is the group of isotopy classes of automorphisms of a smooth oriented connected surface of “large” genus. Tillmann’s theorem [44] that the plus construction makes BΓ∞ into an infinite loop space led to a stable homotopy version of Mumford’s conjecture, stronger than the original [24]. .

Let G be a connected reductive group. The late Ramanathan gave a notion of (semi)stable principal G-bundle on a Riemann surface and constructed a projective moduli space of such objects. We generalize Ramanathan’s notion and construction to higher dimension, allowing also objects which we call semistable principal G-sheaves, in order to obtain a projective moduli space: a principal G-sheaf on a projective variety X is a triple (P, E, ψ), where E is a torsion free sheaf on X, P is a principal G-bundle on the open set U where E is locally free and ψ is an isomorphism...

Surfaces of sections are a classical tool in the study of 3-dimensional dynamical systems. Their use goes back to the work of Poincar´ and Birkhoff. e In the present paper we give a natural generalization of this concept by constructing a system of transversal sections in the complement of finitely many distinguished periodic solutions. Such a system is established for nondegenerate Reeb flows on the tight 3-sphere by means of pseudoholomorphic curves.
