Ebook "Minerals and lipids profiles in cardiovascular disorders in South Asia: Cu, Mg, Se, Zn and lipid serum profiles for the example of patients in Pakistan" correlates different minerals and lipids serum profiles with the prevalence of cardiovascular disorders in South Asian countries with special emphasis on Pakistan. Cardiovascular disorders (CVD, e.g. coronary heart diseases, hypertension, rheumatic heart disease, angina, heart failure and deep vein thrombosis) show significantly increasing rates in South Asian countries like Pakistan and have become a major health problem.

To present a rare case with thrombus resolved with dual antiplatelet in combination with acenocoumarol. Case presentation: A 35-year-old man with a history of cerebral venous thrombosis was admitted to our hospital for an acute myocardial inferior infarction. He underwent primary percutaneous intervention of the right coronary artery with proximal to distal stent placement.

Currently, there is no approved guideline regarding management of patients with polycythemia vera (PCV) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) given the low prevalence. Standard maintenance therapy may be inadequate in cases where patients’ response to standard treatment show heterogeneity.

Acute, perioperative myocardial infarction (MI) from acute left internal mammary artery (LIMA) to left anterior descending (LAD) graft failure immediately following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery is associated with significantly increased in-hospital mortality. The leading etiology of such acute graft failure is acute thrombosis, dissection, spasm, anastomosis failure or no-reflow phenomenon.

Coronary sinus thrombosis (CST) is a rare but life-threatening condition that involves clot formation within the vessel responsible for draining all of the venous blood from the myocardium itself. The coronary sinus is situated in the right atrium approximately half-way between the tricuspid value and the inferior vena cava.

Acute myocardial infarction is a condition that classically presents with chest pain and corresponding biomarkers and changes on electrocardiogram. Although most causes of acute coronary syndrome are due to acute plaque rupture resulting in coronary thrombosis, an increasingly prevalent condition known as spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is becoming more commonly diagnosed. SCAD is characterized by a tear in the tunica media resulting in an intramural hematoma.

Hyperbetalipoproteinemia is a risk of atherosclerosis and thrombosis, which lead to a risk factor for coronary artery disease, hypertension, and stroke - the main causes of mortality globally. This study aimed to determine environmental factors associated with hyperbetalipoproteinemia in children in Hanoi.

In this meta-analysis, we aimed to systematically compare the post percutaneous coronary interventional (PCI) adverse bleeding events, stent thrombosis, stroke and other cardiovascular outcomes in a population of patients with and without thrombocytopenia at baseline who were followed up on dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT).

Rivaroxaban, a direct factor Xa inhibitor, has seldom been used in patients with coronary artery disease. In this analysis, we aimed to systematically compare the efficacy and safety of rivaroxaban in addition to the anti-platelet regimen in patients with coronary artery disease.

Recent studies have demonstrated that inflammatory cells are a component that plays a role in thrombus formation in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). 3-nitrotyrosine (3-NO2-Tyr), a specific marker for protein modification by nitric oxide-derived oxidants, is increased in human atherosclerotic lesions.

Atherothrombosis describes the occurrence of both atherosclerosis and thrombosis in an artery, a common feature of peripheral arterial disease.1 It is estimated that 1 in 16 U.S. residents who were at least 40 years of age in 2000 (approximately 8.5 million persons) had peripheral arterial disease.

Microvascular perfusion is often impaired after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We proposed that in situ thrombosis might contribute to poor myocardial perfusion in this setting. To test this hypothesis, we evaluated the effect of lowdose intracoronary streptokinase administered immediately after primary PCI. Methods Forty-one patients undergoing primary PCI were randomly assigned to receive intracoronary streptokinase (250 kU) or no additional therapy.

Diethylstilbestrol (DES) acting as an estrogen at the level of the hypothalamus to downregulate hypothalamic luteinizing hormone (LH) production results in decreased elaboration of testosterone by the testicle. For this reason, orchiectomy is equally as effective as moderate-dose DES, inducing responses in 80% of previously untreated patients with prostate cancer but without the prominent cardiovascular side effects of DES, including thrombosis and exacerbation of coronary artery disease.
