The solar drying system utilizes solar energy to heat up air and to dry any food substance loaded, which is beneficial in reducing wastage of agricultural products and helps in preservation of agricultural products. A solar cooker is a device which uses the energy of sunlight to heat food or drink or to sterilize it. The vast variety of the solar cookers presently in use are cheap, low tech devices, because they use no fuel and cost, nothing to operate, they reduce air pollution and slow deforestation and desertification.

A field experiment was conducted in the year 2014-2015 to study the effect of drip irrigation levels and black plastic mulch on bell pepper production under naturally ventilated polyhouse. The experiment was carried out in Randomized Block Design with four drip irrigation levels (100, 80, 60 and 40 % of crop water requirement) and surface irrigation in conjunction with or without plastic mulch. Better results were found in drip irrigation system as compared to surface irrigation both under mulched and unmulched treatment.

Software quality must be addressed during the whole process of software development. However, design is of particular importance in developing quality software for two reasons. First, design is the first stage in software system creation in which quality requirements can begin to be addressed. Errors made at this stage can be costly, even impossible, to be rectified. Second, as we will see below, design decisions have significant effects on the quality of the final product.

In this framework, low-powered sensor nodes are based on the micro:bit platform, providing a multiple footprints for different sensor connections. The wireless capability on micro:bit provides a complete solution to deploy the system in such places that wire is impractical to draw. The data is wirelessly gathered by a basestation node that is powered by Android Things operating system provided by Google. This operating system is based on the Android platform for smart devices and Internet of Things products.

The term “push” and “pull” have been used to explain a wide variety of production inventory systems. The distinction refers to a specific attribute, which can be identified by observing the mechanisms for controlling material flow on the shop floor and a specific policy for the management of inventories and production schedules. This paper gives an attempt to compare these systems under their optimal settings under a constraint resource.

This lectures present the key concepts related to software reuse. Reuse-based software engineering is a strategy that was originally started as development strategy. It helps to lower software production and maintenance costs, faster delivery of systems, and improved software quality. Software is a valuable asset for an organization and its reuse increase return on investment.

Improving both the efficiency of water uses and water productivity in irrigation require appropriate solutions for design, management and maintenance of irrigation systems. Various software tools proved useful for designing new systems and to improve functioning and management of systems under operation. In this complex context, it is important that farmers could rely on instruments and practices that enable a better management of water at the field scale, whatever the irrigation method they adopt.

A field experiment was conducted during 2 rainy (kharif), winter (rabi) and summer seasons (2015-17) on a sandy clay loam soil at New Delhi to evaluate 5 cropping systems viz., maize–pea–okra, maize–mustard–green gram, cotton–wheat, bottle gourd–onion and okra–wheat, for productivity, profitability and energetics. The experiment was laid-out in a randomized block design replicated 4 times. Bottle gourd–onion cropping system recorded the highest wheat-grain-equivalent yield (WGEY) of 19.9 t/ha, followed by maize–pea– okra (14.06 t/ha).
