The main findings of the study were that: (1) Goats fed Bauhinia acuminata responded with improved diet digestibility, N retention and growth rate when the Bauhinia acuminata was supplemented with water spinach; (2) However an important negative effect was that the improvement in diet digestibility by supplementation with water spinach led to increases in methane production per unit diet DM digested; (3) Supplementing Bauhinia acuminata foliage with leaves from a bitter variety of cassava reduced the in vitro production of methane when compared with supplementation by leaves from a sweet va...

The main findings of the study were that (i) gas production and methane content of the gas were reduced when ensiled cassava root replaced the dried cassava root as a carbohydrate source, and when cassava leaf meal replaced water spinach meal as a protein source; (ii) Adding brewers’ grains at 5% dry matter (DM) to the diet of ensiled cassava root supplemented with either cassava foliage or water spinach as the main protein source increased DM feed intake...

To investigate the changes in the haematological, serum biochemical parameters and hepato-renal biomarkers upon dietary supplementation of nano zinc oxide (nZnO) and its effect on growth performance in calves, 24 weaned (6 months age) crossbred calves were randomly distributed to four dietary plans (Control, Treatment1, Treatment2 and Treatment3). The Control(C) group was fed exclusively with basal diet; T1 was supplemented with 25ppm ZnSo4, T2 and T3 with 5ppm and 10ppm nZnO respectively, along with the basal diet. Zinc content in basal was 26.24ppm.

To obtain the best practical diet (in terms growth rate, survival rate, feed conversion ratio and water quality) which can replace the Vital feed (an expensive feed for Kuruma prawn) and trash fish under laboratory conditions. Activities 1. Conduct Experiment 1: to test three practical diets: a) the "best" diet from Vu-anh Tuan' s PhD research; b) Diet a) plus additives (e.g., vitamins and minerals); and c) Diet b) with further supplement (e.g., vitamins and minerals plus mixed enzymes). 2.

Four diets having 30% crude proteins, 16.67 KJ/g gross energy have formulated to be supplemented either phytase at 750 and 1500 FYT (FYT: one unit of phytase is defined as the amount of enzyme that liberates 1 micromole of inorganic phosphorus per minute from 1.5 millimole sodium phytate solution at 370C and pH 5.5) (P1 and P2 treatments) or 1% dicalci phosphate (DCP treatment) or no supplemented phytase or dicalci phosphate (Control treatment).
