Self-regulation is an active and constructive process in which students regulate and observe their own behaviour, motivations and cognition by setting their own goals during their learning process. In this study, the aim is to investigate the effects of biology laboratory practices that are supported by self-regulated learning strategies on students’ readiness for self-directed learning and their attitudes towards science experiments in laboratory settings.

This study is directed to understand the origin of that difference with a numerical simulation of the process. The mechanical behaviour of the materials was investigated in tension and hydraulic bulge test, out of comparison’s sake and to derive the hardening law over a strain range representative of the process. Finite element simulations are performed using the von Mises criterion coupled with isotropic hardening, to compare the predicted forming load and springback parameters with experimental values.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the direct and indirect effects of leadership behaviours on organisational outcomes within the context of organisations from the private industry sector in Australia. Specifically, this study was interested in examining the influence of authentic leadership and ethical leadership on perceived ethical climate, subordinates’ organisational citizenship behaviours, affective organisational commitment, and in-role performance.

The present study contributed to the body of knowledge by providing a theoretical framework in modelling and predicting host residents’ interactive behaviour towards tourists, and a comprehensive understanding of the roles that psychologic, demographic and socio-graphic factors plays in the different directions of community attitudes towards tourism. It also provided tourism authorities with practical recommendations and implications in terms of tourism planning and a harmonious relationship between the host residents and tourists.

This study investigates the static bending and free vibration behaviour of Multi-directional Functionally Graded plates having a variable thickness. With this regard, the third-order shear deformation plate theory is used to describe the kinematic relation. Material properties of MFGM are assumed to be graded in spatial direction within the plate’s volume and the effective material properties are calculated based on the power-law approach.

The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of impulse buying behavior and the factors at the pointof-sale affecting this behavior of consumers from the perspective of many different researchers. Based on the content of the research, the article will classify the various factors at the point-of-sale affecting impulse buying behavior and further develop the research framework suggesting the direction of further research on impulse buying behavior in the socio-economic context of Vietnam.

Using firm-level data, this paper examines the effects of foreign firm presence on the exporting behaviour of domestic firms in the Vietnamese manufacturing sector. Applying the Heckman selection model, we find that investment by foreign firms has a negative effect on domestic firms’ decision to export.

In the present work, the large displacement behaviour of FGSW beams in thermal environment is studied by a finite element formulation. The beams considered herein consist of three layers, a homogeneous core and two FGM skin layers. The material properties are assumed to be temperature dependent, and they are graded in the thickness direction by a power gradation law. Based on Antman beam model, a nonlinear beam element using linear interpolation is formulated in the context of the total Lagrange formulation.

The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of three seam types, stitches (301, 401 and 504) and directions (warp, weft and 45o bias) on the drape behaviour of medium cotton woven fabrics. Drape profiles of fabrics with seams provide guidance for garment designs, producers in the apparel industry and improve the understanding of drape properties corresponding to different seam features. The results also will be useful in predicting garment drape in further study

In this work our objective is to understand the failure behaviour of unreinforced masonry under in-plane cyclic loading. For this purpose we proposed a plasticity based interface model consists of a single yield surface criteria which is a direct extension of Mohr–Coulomb criteria with a tension cut and compression cap and a back stress vector is introduced as a mixed hardening law variable in the adopted yield surface to capture the unloading/reloading behaviour of masonry under cyclic loading.
