Group B streptococcus (GBS) infections are still the leading cause of invasive infections in neonates, specically they also seriously cause mortality and morbidity with underlying diseases in adults. Curently, there are ten GBS serotypes (Ia, Ib, and II-IX) and the resistance characteristic of GBS is important to clinical treatment.

To investigate the changes in the haematological, serum biochemical parameters and hepato-renal biomarkers upon dietary supplementation of nano zinc oxide (nZnO) and its effect on growth performance in calves, 24 weaned (6 months age) crossbred calves were randomly distributed to four dietary plans (Control, Treatment1, Treatment2 and Treatment3). The Control(C) group was fed exclusively with basal diet; T1 was supplemented with 25ppm ZnSo4, T2 and T3 with 5ppm and 10ppm nZnO respectively, along with the basal diet. Zinc content in basal was 26.24ppm.

Serine⁄threonine kinase 33 (STK33⁄Stk33) is a recently discovered gene whose inferred amino acid sequence translation displays characters typical for a calcium⁄calmodulin dependent kinase (CAMK). Group I introns are thought to be self-propagating mobile elements, and are distributed over a wide range of organisms through horizontal trans-mission. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from the outer membrane of Gram-negative bac-teria belongs to the most potent activators of the mammalian immune sys-tem. Its lipid moiety, lipid A, the ‘endotoxic principle’ of LPS, carries two negatively charged phosphate groups and six acyl chain residues in a defined asymmetric distribution (corresponding to synthetic compound 506). Tetraacyl lipid A (precursor IVa or synthetic 406), which lacks the two hydroxylated acyl chains, is agonistically completely inactive, but is a strong antagonist to bioactive LPS when administered to the cells before LPS addition. .
