Distribution of sample means

In developing acceptance sampling plan, the mean is often the choice due to the fact that it is a good estimator. However, it is only a good estimator when dealing with symmetrical data. If the data is not symmetrical, then the mean is no longer a good estimator, but the median is. The recent two-sided group chain acceptance sampling plans (TSGChSP) has only been applied to Pareto distribution of the 2nd kind by using the mean to cater for symmetrical data. In reality, some data are actually non-symmetrical.

The established modified group chain acceptance sampling plans (MGChSP) only considered the consumer’s risk when developing the plans and turned down the producer’s risk, which means the established MGChSP satisfied the consumer but not the producer. Based on the above problem, this article proposes the minimum angle method for the MGChSP as the method considers both risks (consumer’s and producer’s) simultaneously. In order to develop the proposed MGChSP, the generalized exponential distribution is chosen as its lifetime distribution, and the time truncated simulation is done.

However, information on the dynamics of earthworm populations in northern Cameroon is not available. This paper highlights the research carried out on the abundance, biomass, and diversity of earthworm populations throughout four types of land use in northern Cameroon. Earthworms were sampled throughout the rainy season in three regions, across pastures, woody savannahs, grass savannahs, and fields, using formaldehyde and hand sorting.

The invasive brown bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus (Lesueur, 1918)) has been present in Europe since the late 19th century, but there is still a lack of reliable information about its distribution in Europe and the condition of its population. A long-term study (from 2000 to 2011) in three shallow lakes in Central Europe (eastern Poland) was carried out to determine the occurrence of the brown bullhead and its participation in the fish community. The brown bullhead was present in almost all the sampling fishing in all the lakes studied (Ci = 72%–82%).

Nine typical pedons from Langate Block of Kupwara district during 2017 were selected and surveyed for the purpose of collection of soil samples. The soil samples processed and analyzed for different nutrients. Available Micro and Macro nutrients were determined using standard techniques. The overall results showed that the soils are near slightly acidic to moderate alkaline in reaction, low to medium in organic carbon. In general the soils The available nutrients Nitrogen and Potassium were low to medium with the mean values of 287.99 and 149.

The proposed scheme is compared with the existing parametric and nonparametric GWMA monitoring schemes and other well-known control schemes. The effect of the estimated design parameters as well as the effect of the Phase I sample size on the Phase II performance of the new monitoring scheme are also investigated. The results show that the proposed scheme presents better and attractive mean shifts detection properties, and therefore outperforms the existing monitoring schemes in many situations.

Two hundred and seventy (270) geo-referenced (GPS based) composite surface soil samples (0-15cm) were collected from 8 mandals of Prudential sugar factory zone, of Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. Soil samples were analyzed for exchangeable Ca, Mg and DTPA extractable micronutrients (Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn). The results revealed that exchangeable calcium and magnesium were ranged from 1 to 6.8 cmol (p+) kg-1 and 0.3 to 6.8 cmol (p+) kg-1 soil with a mean values of 3.43 cmol (p+) kg-1 soil and 3.44 cmol (p+) kg-1 soil respectively.

The present investigation was carried out to assess the distribution of zooplankton in seagrass ecosystem in comparison with that of the coastal waters without seagrasses in Gulf of Mannar.
