In this work, Al-doped ZnO and Fe-doped ZnO nanoparticles have been synthesized through the coprecipitationannealing method to create new and safer UV filters for sunscreen. The effects of metal doping on phase composition, crystal structure, surface morphology, specific surface area, and elemental composition were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, field emission electron scanning microscopy, nitrogen adsorption-desorption experiments and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, respectively.

In this research, in an attempt to make use of the kaolin resources in Vietnam, we present a synthetic process of zeolite A via hydrothermal from kaolinite, together with the modification process of zeolite A using different metallic cations. The characteristics of the prepared zeolite LTAs such as chemical composition and crystalline structure, as well as their catalytic activity in the methanation reaction of carbon dioxide (CO2) to methane (CH4) were extensively investigated.

Monoclinic argentite Ag2S-based AgCoOS oxysulfide catalyst with high catalytic reduction performance in the dark with NaBH4 was prepared via a facial method. Microwave absorbing materials (MAMs) are essential materials for mitigating the bad effects of electromagnetic interference and microwave pollution. SrFe12-2xCux/2Cox/2TixO19 samples showed their superior microwave absorption performances in both reflection loss and effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) values for the normal incident angle of the microwave. Between these parameters, EAB values expressed how large a frequency the MAM could be used for practical applications.

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to investigate the adsorption of carbon dioxide (CO2) on metal-organic framework (MOF-5) and alkali-metal (Li, K, Na) doped MOF-5s. The adsorption energy calculation showed that metal atom adsorption is exothermic in MOF-5 system. Moreover, alkali-metal doping can significantly improve the adsorption ability of carbon dioxide on MOF-5. The best influence is observed for Li-doping.
