This study aims to explore the role of dictation as a technique in developing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students’ listening and: to investigate whether the use of dictation as a technique is useful in developing students listening or not. In addition to find out how students would respond to dictation as a teaching technique and to attract teachers’ attention towards the effectiveness of dictation as a technique in improving listening ability.

The second aim of the study was to find out the correlation between students’ MI scores and their vocabulary learning strategy use. Before analyzing the correlation, it was found that Intrapersonal intelligence was the most dominant type among participants, while Mathematical Intelligence was the least used one. Pearson correlation was performed to see the potential relation between two variables.

The present study sets out with three main aims. First, it aims to understand how Vietnamese EFL teachers perceive LA and express it in their teaching practice. Second, it explores students’ understanding of LA and the ways they learn English autonomously. Lastly, it investigates the relationship between the EFL teachers’ and the EFL students’ perceptions and practices of LA.
