Periodontitis is a chronic bacterial infection destroying tooth-supporting tissues. Like metronidazole, tinidazole (TNZ) is also effective in treating periodontitis. This study aimed to formulate and optimize TNZ nanoparticles and evaluate their physicochemical properties.

This paper was performed to evaluate the photothermal effect of pure gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) prepared by electrochemical method at different voltages, under laser irradiation in the safe wavelength range. The formation, morphological, and structural properties of Au NPs were analyzed by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

Polypropylene/ maleic anhydride /organic montmorillonite nanocomposites (PP/ MA/ Org-MMT) have been prepared via direct melt intercalation in an internal mixer. Maleic anhydride (MA) was used as a compatibilizer to improve the dispersability of the clay. The structures of nanocomposites have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Mechanical properties and thermal stability were determined by tensile analysis and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), respectively.

In this oxidase the electron donor, cytochromec, is covalently bound to subunit II of the cytochrome c oxidase. The kinetic properties of glycine oxidase fromBacillus sub-tiliswere investigated using glycine, sarcosine, andD-proline as substrate. The turnover numbers at saturating substrate andoxygen concentrationswere 4.0 s )1 ,4.2s )1 ,and3.5 s )1 , respectively, with glycine, sarcosine, andD-proline as sub-strate. Glycine oxidase was converted to a two-electron reduced form upon anaerobic reduction with the individual substrates and its reductive half-reaction was demonstrated tobe reversible.
