This study reports athermal fading rates in K-feldspar grains extracted from sediments of varied ages and provenances. Multiple combinations of stimulation and emission spectral regions were examined to identify an optimum combination that provides a luminescence signal with minimal athermal fading.

A small part of the absorbed light energy in the photosynthesis process is lost during the migration from the pigment antenna to the reaction centers and are dissipated by a number of non-photochemical processes, including heat, and re-emission of a small but easily detectable amount (2-5% in vivo) of the absorbed radiation. This re-emission occurs at longer wavelengths in the red and far-red spectral regions and is termed as Chlorophyll Fluorescence (ChlF) (Shreiber, 1983; Backer & Bradbury, 1981)....

Excimer lasers are pulsed gas lasers that intrinsically offer efficient and powerful broadband emission at several spectral regions throughout the ultraviolet. The spectral widths are typically 2 nm. An exception to this categorization is the XeF laser urith its broadly tunable C+A transition (approximately 50 nm) in the visible. The broad tunability results from the steeply repulsive A state.
