Endophytic bacterial strain
-
In this study, we isolated rice endophytic bacteria and selected strains that have antagonistic activity against Dz for application in controlling the foot rot disease. The endophytic strain VY81 isolated from stem of a rice plant with foot rot disease was studied in details since it had prominent antagonistic activity against Dz.

Objectives: The aims were to evaluate the effects of some selected endophytic bacteria strains on growth, development of Robusta coffee in a greenhouse and in field conditions. Based on these results, further studies were conducted to determine the effective dose and compatible combination of these strains on the growth and yield of the coffee in the field.

The plant-microbe interaction effect of these bacteria, either singly or in combination, on growth and development of maize (Malviya Hybrid Maize 2) were also studied. The results reveal that the combination of BHU8 with RRE3 proved to be most beneficial and efficient with regards to many of the growth parameters like shoot and root length, number of leaves, shoot and root fresh weight, shoot, root dry weight and chlorophyll content.

Endophytic nonrhizobial bacteria, Chryseobacterium indologenes, Endophytic non rhizobial bacterial stain AM2 was isolated from root nodules of Vigna radiate. The bacterium was Gram-negative, yellow pigmented, nonspore forming, motile and oxidase positive. Phylogeny of 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that the strain belonged to the genus Chryseobacterium, a member of family Flavobacteriaceae.

Functional associations between phytobacteria and cultured plants have often been successful; some authors suggest that co-cultivation of bacterial strains with in vitro cells or tissues, seems to be one of the appropriate approaches for mass propagation of plants. This study analyzed the effect on growth and development of a desert plant Fouquieria splendens callus, co-cultivated with an endophyte bacterium.

Functionality associated with the plants play an important role in the health and growth of plants. Eleven endophytic bacterial isolates from different hosts were identified and were used for studying their functionality. Different endophytes identified by partial sequencing of 16S rDNA were: Bacillus licheniformis strain CRE1; B. subtilis, strain CNE215; B. subtilis strain PRE8; Bacillus sp. strain PNE17; B. cereus, strain PNE92; B. subtilis, strain LRE3; Bacillus sp. strain LRE7; Bacillus sp. strain WRE4; B. flexus strain WRE20; B.

Gram-negative bacterial endophytes have attracted research interest caused by their advantageous over epiphytic bacteria in plant nutrition and protection. However, research on these typically Gram-negative endophytes has deficiencies concerning the role of cultivation and pre-formulation strategies on further plant colonisation capabilities. Besides, the influence of cultivation conditions and osmotic stress within bacterial endophytes on their phosphate solubilising ability has not yet been addressed.

Salicornia europaea L. as an underutilized saline-tolerant plant inhabited by endophytic diazotrophs
Despite the great interest in using halophyte Salicornia europaea L. as a crop in extreme saline habitats, little is known about the role played by associated endophytic bacteria in increasing tolerance of the host-plant to nutrient deficiency. Main objectives of this study were to investigate the community composition of diazotrophic endophytes of S. europaea grown under natural conditions, and determine the proportion of plant-growth promoting bacterial strains able to fix N2. To quantify the abundance of diazotrophic bacterial endophytes in stems and roots of S.
