The influence of electromagnetic interaction in one photon approximation was applied to study the muon decay in electroweak interaction. The divergences that ariose in this process were infrared ones in the low energy region. The divergent treatment was carried out with two methods: the minimum mass method and the dimensional regularization method.

The aim of this research is to improve the reliability of the dynamic formula. This research program will concentrate on the proposal of a correction factor to adjust for this dynamic component similar to the damping parameter used in the Wave Equation Analysis and validate its reliability experimentally and theoretically. Similarly, the issue of the variation in the hammer energy delivered to pile needs to be improved by the adoption of new technology and validate experimentally.

Density Functional based Tight-binding method with dispersion corrections and Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations were performed to study the carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorption process on a metal-organic framework (IRMOF-1). The adsorption centers, adsorption energy, adsorption capacity, diffusion coefficient, and the effect of temperature on the adsorption process have been thoroughly examined and elucidated.

The document will be structured as follows: In Chapter 2 outline the methodology, discussing the computational techniques used to evaluate the interaction energies and evaluating the construction of the TT and D3(BJ) correction terms. Chapter 3 attempts to establish a foundational understanding of how these methods model vdW interactions by evaluating the performance of the corrected and uncorrected HF and DFT methods in comparison with CCSD(T) energies for a selection of inert gas dimers, and simple molecule-molecule interactions.

The reaction mechanism between propadienylidene and methyleneimine was systematically investigated employing the second-order Møller–Plesset perturbation theory (MP2) method with the 6 – 31 + G* basis set. Geometry optimization, vibrational analysis, and energy property of the involved stationary points on the potential energy surface were calculated. The energies of the different species were corrected by single point energy calculations at the CCSD (T) // MP2 / 6 – 31 + G* level.

This paper presents the identification for 63,65Cr isotopes as the products of knockout reactions for the first time, measured at RIKEN, Japan, within the framework of the “Shell Evolution And Search for Two-plus energies At RIBF” (RIBF- Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory) project, in short SEASTAR. Based on the Bρ-ΔE-ToF method, these nuclei were well separated. The results will be used in the spectroscopic study on 63,65Cr contributing data to the structural study around the N=40 “island of inversion”.

The off-line activation technique using a spectroscopic system consisting of a HPGe semiconductor detector with high energy resolution and a PC based 8192 channel analyzer (CANBERRA) was applied. The investigated samples were prepared from the 99.99 % purity PdO and irradiated at the electron accelerator Microtron MT-25 of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Dubna, Russia. The data analysis and necessary corrections were made to upgrade the precision of the experimental method.

Interactions of dimethyl sulfide with CO2 are investigated using MP2 method with the 6-311++G(2d,2p) basis set. Nine stable geometries are observed, in which DMS∙∙∙2CO2 is found to be more stable than DMS∙∙∙1CO2 . Interaction energies for all the compexes with ZPE and BSSE corrections at MP2/ aug-cc-pVTZ//MP2/6-311++G(2d,2p) range from -2.7 to -22.0 kJ.mol-1.

Agriculture is going through a profound revolution worldwide due to increasing world demand for food, higher costs of energy and other inputs, environmental pollution problems, and instability of cropping systems. The importance of plant functioning can be realized from the facts that knowledge of mineral nutrition of plants has opened new vistas for fertilizer practices. The detection of deficiencies and toxicity of particular mineral nutrient element has enabled us to make adequate soil amendments and root nutrient absorption for better plant growth.

The binding energy of exciton in quantum dots with a parabolic confinement potential was calculated by variational methods beyond the Kohn-Luttinger effective mass theory, when the central-cell correction was taken into account. We have assumed that a short range potential with two parameters for strength and range for exciton, representing the center-cell effect also depends on dot size. Our result is in good agreement with experiment.

The results show that high-energy neutrons with En > 20 MeV are of small fraction (2.6%) in the neutron source, but their contribution to the source efficiency is about 23% for the large scale ADS. Based on this, a neutron source efficiency correction factor is proposed. Tests show that the new correction method works well in the ADS calculation. This method can effectively improve the accuracy of the prediction of the proton beam current.

The intermolecular pair potentials of the dimer H2-H2 were constructed from quantum mechanics using method CCSD(T) with Dunning's correlation-consistent basis sets aug-cc-pVmZ (m = 2, 3, 4); ab initio energies were extrapolated to the complete basis set limit. The interaction energies were corrected for the basis set superposition error (BSSE) with the counterpoise scheme.

In this work we present the yield ratios of the 179m,gW isomeric pair produced in the photonuclear reactions natW(γ,xn)179m,gW with bremsstrahlung end-point energies of 50-, 55-, 60-, and 65-MeV. The measurements were carried out by the induced activity method in combination with direct γ-ray spectrometry. The measured activities were corrected for overlapping γ-ray peaks, self-absorption of low energy γ-rays and true coincidence-summing effects. The present results are measured for the first time with bremsstrahlung end-point energies beyond the giant dipole resonance region.

The increased attention given to equine nutritional issues during the last 6–7 years by research groups around the world, has prompted me to revise the 2nd edition of this book. The preparation of this edition entailed the careful reading of the previous edition and with it the embarrassing discovery of a few errors, including one or two in equations, which I have now corrected. It has been necessary to revise all chapters and other sections, some to a greater extent than others.

Much has changed in the 3 years since the first edition of this book. The physics of heat, light, sound and energy is still the same, so there is little change in the first three parts. Apart from the correction of a few errors, a few new developments are mentioned, some new methods are included and statistics updated. Part 4 has many new elements that reflect societal changes, especially changes in public attitudes. Three years ago there were many who denied global warming or who regarded renewable energy technologies as ‘ kids ’ stuff ’. Today only a few of these survive.

Food and water are necessary to keep the human body functioning. People must have a balanced diet that includes a complex range of nutrients to provide energy, promote growth, maintain health and resist disease or illness, and promote longevity. It is also known that food and water can carry, or be sources of, harmful microorganisms, chemical compounds and particulate matter.
