In this study, a database including 159 experimental beam results gathered from the available literature was used for the development of an artificial neural network (ANN) model in an effort to predict the bond strength between GFRP bars and concrete. Two ANN models using BFGS quasi-Newton backpropagation and conjugate gradient backpropagation with Polak-Ribiére algorithms were constructed and evaluated in terms of bond strength prediction accuracy.

This study attempted to design an intelligent, portable device as hardware for dust measurement by IMHEN. The device is able to collect a specific dust level, the time and location of various measurements, and environment parameters such as temperature, relative humidity, atmosphere pressure, etc. The device’s design used the programmable Arduino Mega 2560 board as the main processing unit. The device is small, portable, battery-operated which makes it to be suitable for mobile measurement of environment parameters.

The study used a quantitative approach with the PLS-SEM method to evaluate the measurement model (an outer model) and the structural model (an inner model). This article examines the capability of Minimax Probability Machine (MPM) for the prediction of seismic liquefaction potential of soil based on the Cone Penetration Test (CPT) data. The dataset has been taken from Chi–Chi earthquake. MPM is developed based on the use of hyperplanes. It has been adopted as a classification tool. This article uses two models (MODEL I and MODEL II). MODEL I employs Cone Resistance (qc) and Cyclic Stress Ratio (CSR) as input variables.
