Evaluation of extraction methods

In this study, we evaluated and compared the effectiveness of four different protocols (D, MJ, MA, and S) for separating MPs from water of different types (brackish, marine, and river). Known combinations of MP particles (polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polystyrene (PS) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with size ranging between 150 μm and 700 μm were spiked into water samples. Our results showed that the average recovery effectiveness of microplastics using four studied methods ranged from 53% to 86%.

The present study focuses on the preparation of silver/copper bimetallic hybrid nanoparticles by green method from precursor solutions of silver nitrate & copper nitrate and the locally available citrus fruit (lemon) peel extract which behaves as the stabilizing and reducing agent. Initially, the formation of hybrid nanoparticles was noticed in the reaction mixture by colour change.

Photocatalytic degradation proficiency was studied for bromothymol blue dye. Phytochemicals-coated Nickel Oxide nanoparticles demonstrated antibacterial properties against bacteria (gram negative strain of E. coli, Pseudomonas spp. and gram positive strain of Bacillus spp.) by showing highest zone of inhibition (19 mm, 22 mm, 15 mm).the antioxidant activity of the synthesized nanoparticles were also examined and the result show that the fabricated nanoparticles exhibited significant radical scavenging activity.

Short-term load forecasting of buildings based on artificial neural network and clustering technique
In this paper, we propose an artificial neural network (ANN) based method to predict the energy use in campus buildings in short-term time series from one hour up to one week. The proposed method analyzes and extracts the features from the historical data of load and temperature to generate the prediction of future energy consumption in the building based on sparsified K-means. To evaluate the performance of the proposed approach, historical load data in hourly resolution collected from the campus buildings in Chonnam National University were used.

Review the existing studies including an assessment tool/method to assess the quality of mHealth apps extract their criteria; and provide a classification of the collected criteria. Twenty-three papers were included in the review. Thirty-eight main classes of assessment criteria were identified. These were reorganized by expert panel into 7 main classes (Design, Information/Content, Usability, Functionality, Ethical Issues, Security and Privacy, and User-perceived value) with 37 sub-classes of criteria.

This study screened phytochemicals to determine their total polyphenols content (TPC) by Folin-Ciocalteu reagents and to evaluate antioxidant activity using DPPH scavenging, ABTS cation decolorization, and reducing power assays of various extracts of Symplocos cochinchinensis leaves. In this study, anticholinergic, antidiabetic, antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of Reseda lutea L. (R. lutea) were determined. Ethanol extracts of R. lutea (EERL) and water extract of R. lutea (WERL) were prepared for biochemical analysis. The antioxidant capacities of EERL and WERL were evaluated with 6 different methods. In addition, acetylcholinesterase (AChE), α-amylase and α-glycosidase enzyme inhibition by EERL were measured.

This paper suggests a new solution to conceal text messages in media by hybridizing a meta-heuristic algorithm of the Gravity search algorithm (GSA) and transposition method. Several stages are implemented, namely the concealment stage, extract stage, and evaluation metrics, whereas cover text and message text are split into blocks, and each block contains one letter, relying on the fitness value of related notes both of secret information and cover message.
