Experiences from Some Countries

Governments and countries are making efforts to overcome the consequences of climate change, especially reducing greenhouse emissions. The concept of “carbon market” was also born from there as one of the economic solutions to solve environmental problems. By studying the experiences of some countries in the Emissions Trading Mechanism, this article offers some suggestions for Vietnam to improve the legal framework as well as organize and operate the carbon market effectively.

In this study, the author presents some international experiences on the ecosystem for Fintech development. The paper uses a qualitative approach, based on secondary data from various sources, such as reports, articles, websites, and books. The experiences are drawn from some countries that have made significant progress in building a Fintech ecosystem, such as the UK, South Kore, Japan and Singapore... The Fintech ecosystem is an important factor to promote the development of Fintech and digital finance in Vietnam.

Carbon pricing is widely recognized as an effective policy instrument for climate change mitigation. Carbon pricing have been imposed in 39 developed countries and eight middle-income countries. All over the world, banks have been undergoing crisis, but the Nigerian experience has been hazardous to the country’s financial sector stability. Against this scenery, this paper investigates some cost efficiency correlates of a set of fifteen deposit money banks in Nigeria over the period 2001-2008. Random effects Tobit regression was applied for estimating the correlates of cost efficiency obtained from Data Envelopment Analysis. The findings revealed net assets as a better index for measuring bank size-efficiency nexus other than total assets.
