  • Abstract In this paper we demonstrate how Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals can be used to obtain exponential bounds for the solutions of time-invariant linear delay systems. Keywords: time delay system, exponential estimate, Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. The objective of this note is to describe a systematic procedure of constructing quadratic Lyapunov functionals for (exponentially) stable linear delay systems in order to obtain exponential estimates for their solutions.

  • For bidirectional associate memory neural networks with time-varying delays, the problems of determining the exponential stability and estimating the exponential convergence rate are investigated by employing the Lyapunov functional method and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique. A novel criterion for the stability, which give information on the delay-dependent property, is derived.

  • Consider the inverse eigenvalue problem of the Schr¨dinger operator deo fined on a finite interval. We give optimal and almost optimal conditions for a set of eigenvalues to determine the Schr¨dinger operator. These conditions are o simple closedness properties of the exponential system corresponding to the known eigenvalues. The statements contain nearly all former results of this topic. We give also conditions for recovering the Weyl-Titchmarsh m-function from its values m(λn ).

  • For diffeomorphisms of smooth compact finite-dimensional manifolds, we consider the problem of how fast the number of periodic points with period n grows as a function of n. In many familiar cases (e.g., Anosov systems) the growth is exponential, but arbitrarily fast growth is possible; in fact, the first author has shown that arbitrarily fast growth is topologically (Baire) generic for C 2 or smoother diffeomorphisms.

As in other recent proposals, it predicts targetside phrases and can be conditioned on sourceside context.   • This study proposes an EOQ inventory mathematical model for deteriorating items with exponentially decreasing demand. In the model, the shortages are allowed and partially backordered. The backlogging rate is variable and dependent on the waiting time for the next replenishment. Further, we show that the minimized objective cost function is jointly convex and derive the optimal solution. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the model and the sensitivity analysis is also studied.

  • TL-moments and LQ-moments of the exponentiated generalized extreme value distribution (EGEV) will be obtained and used to estimate the unknown parameters of the EGEV distribution. Many special cases may be obtained such as the L-moments, LH-moments and LL-moments. The estimation of the EGEV distribution parameters is studied in numerical simulations where the method for obtaining TL-moments is compared with other estimation methods (L-moments estimators, LQ-moment estimators and the method of moment estimators).

Based on improved Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method combined with the Leibniz-Newton formula, linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) conditions are proposed for the exponential stability of the considered systems under arbitrary switching signal. A numerical example showing the effectiveness of our conditions is given.

  • In this paper, the problem of exponential stability for a class of nonlinear neutral systems with interval time-varying delay is studied. Based on improved Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals combine with Leibniz-Newton’s formula, new delay-dependent sufficient conditions for the exponential stability of the systems are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which allows to compute the maximal bound of the exponential stability rate of the solution.
