  • The present study was conducted in Andhra Pradesh with the objective to assess the economic impact of Farmers’ Field Schools (FFSs). The total sample size was 240 comprising 120 FFS farmers and 120 non-FFS farmers selected through random sampling method from three districts of Andhra Pradesh. The double difference method was used by analysing change in performance before and after the programme for FFS farmers to the change in performance over the same period for non-FFS farmers unaffected by the programme. The farmers were interviewed by using a structured interview schedule.

  • Hence, in order to ensure food security and to promote the livelihood of rural poor, promoting the piggery farming becomes essential. In order to promote, piggery farming, the constraints experienced by them should be eliminated; which requires a detailed study on the constraints. The objective of the study is to analyse the constraints experienced ny the piggery farmers and to provide suggestions to promote piggery farming.   • In this study, Yellow mosaic resistant, TBG-104, a new variety of blackgram is considered which showed a higher yield gap between potential yield given by the breeder and the actual yield realized in the farmers‟ fields during rabi season. Surprisingly, on an average 1.5 folds more yield is observed in the famers‟ fields. A random sample of fifty-two farmers who cultivate TBG-104 was selected from three districts of Southern Zone of Andhra Pradesh and their fields are monitored from sowing to harvesting and data is collected on six factors.

  • Aquaculture plays a major role in augmenting food production, levelihood and thereby the economy of a country. Andhra Pradesh is the leading state in cultured shrimp production, value and exports. Increasing intensification of shrimp aquaculture, devoid of awareness on scientific farming practices among farmers, spurious seed and water pollution, exerted disease problems. Diseases in shrimp farming are a recurring problem and the future is dwindling and farmers are facing heavy losses.

  • In India, still farmers face several constraints in practicing organic farming like Inadequate availability of organic inputs, scarcity of irrigation storage structures, lack of quality training on organic farming, lack of technical guidance on organic farming, Non-availability of readymade organic inputs formulation, lack of control measures for pest and disease, less number of technologies in organic farming practices (Sivaraj et al., 2017). Data were collected using PRA tools, interview schedule and focus group discussions during August 2018 to January 2019.
