  • This article presents two methods to determine pressing forces to the M1 copper plate. The first approach employs the upper-bound method, and the second method combines numerical simulation with a central composite design. The upper-bound method uses physical analysis to determine the deformation zone and establish the division of the rigid block model. The findings were identical to the slip-line solution method.

  • This paper aims to design the multi-cell cross-sectional thin-walled columns with two crashworthiness criteria. An explicit finite element analysis (FEA) is used to derive higher-order response surfaces for these two objectives. In the process of multiobjective crashworthiness optimization, Deb and Gupta method was utilized to find out the knee points from the Pareto solutions space.

  • The dynamic analysis is a necessity in the design, manufacturing and maintenance of structures. The analytic solutions are not available for most practical cases and the Finite Element Method (FEM) is not reliable due to the joint problem, unclear loading, material properties and numerical error. In this paper, we present a way to find modes shape of 3D Frame by FEM program using Matlab.

  • In this study, we apply an artificial viscosity method to convert an unsteady level set (LS) convection equation into an unsteady LS convection-diffusion transport equation to stabilize the numerical solution of the convection term. Then a novel least-square polygonal finite element method is used to solve an unsteady LS convection-diffusion problem.

  • The difficulty in solving finite element programs is to estimate the appropriate element size to obtain a reliable solution. Therefore, the element(s) size and meshing density is required to be determined reasonably. However, almost models ignored that problem or have to solve it by hand.

  • In this study, the hot forging process of a connecting rod was performed using both finite element method (FEM) and experimental method (EM). With four workpiece types, the forging processes were conducted using QForm.10.1.6 to evaluate the maxinmum forging force, the temperature contribution, the plascity tress, the filling ability, and detect the laps in the forging products. The best solution was determined based on these evaluated results. With maximum forging force of 372.

  • In this study, a semi-analytical solution of the Reynolds equation based on the Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method (SBFEM) is developed to reduce the numerical effort of the overall simulation. In contrast to a purely numerical solution, the two-dimensional pressure field is discretized in only one coordinate direction, whereas in the other direction, an analytical formulation is used.

  • In this article, we propose a two-process coupling subproblem technique for improving the errors that overcome thin shell assumptions. This technique is based on the subproblem method to couple SPs in two-processes. The first scenario is an initial problem solved with coils/stranded inductors together with thin region models. The obtained solutions are then considered as volume sources for the second scenario, including actual volume improvements that scope with the thin shell assumptions.
