Flexible business model
-
By moving from the "integrated" to the "dynamic" supply chain model, businesses may see their supply chains as flexible ecosystems of people, processes, capital assets, technology, and data. In the rapidly evolving corporate world, effective supply chain management (SCM) is a critical issue. Dynamic SCM necessitates good decision information synchronization and integrated decision-making among autonomous chain partners.

Evidence-based interactive management of change means hands-on experience of modified work processes, given evidence of change. For this kind of pro-active organizational development support we use an organisational process memory and a communication-based representation technique for rolespecific and task-oriented process execution. Both are effective means for organizations becoming agile through interactively modelling the business at the process level and re-constructing or re-arranging process representations according to various needs.

Recently, the public sector has began to recognize the potential opportunities offered by ICT and e-business models to fit with citizens’ demands, to offer better services to citizens and to increase efficiency by streamlining internal processes. Tapscott and Caston (1993) argue that ICT causes a “paradigm shift” introducing “the age of network intelligence”, reinventing businesses, governments and individuals. Paradigm shifts prevail in the public sector too.

Business trips are fairly inflexible and it is often difficult for travelers to select their destinations. Business travel, often referred to as MICE (Meetings-Incentives-Conferences-Exhibitions), is normally determined by business opportunities and involvement of the traveler with organisations at the destination. Perhaps more flexibility can be exercised by travelers attending optional meetings, which provide benefits but are not strictly essential to their business such as conferences, exhibitions, incentives, familiarization trips etc (Davidson 1994).

Only statistical inference with stationary variables provides valid results. In simple words, this is because if variables are non-stationary then any correlation between the explanatory and the dependent variable could be due to the trending in both variables that is caused by a third variable not included in the model. We tested for the non-stationarity of the variables in our model formally with the help of Levin, Lin and Chu’s (2002) unit root test for panel data.

From a banking group’s perspective, a range of factors play a role in the choice of branching versus subsidiarization, including banks’ business focus and differences in regulatory and tax regimes across jurisdictions. Banks with significant wholesale operations tend to prefer a more centralized branch model that provides the flexibility to manage liquidity and credit risks globally and serve the needs of large clients. The funding costs for the wholesale group are likely to be lower under the branch structure, given the flexibility to move funds to where they are most needed.

Moreover, we believe that the measures taken should be flexible enough to be compatible with all types of banking models, including universal banking and the savings and retail banks’ business model. The ESBG welcomes the recognition of the universal banking model. However, the ESBG also states that every financial system has its own particular characteristics; there are diverse banking structural models and practices within the EU which need to be fully respected.

The need for Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and data analysis has always existed, and so have different approaches to fulfill this need. Traditional BI software has heavily relied on techniques that have been around and persisted through the decades, but newer technologies have emerged in recent times that have proven to be more flexible and, therefore, more adequate for the evolving environment in which they are used. QlikView is an example of this kind of disruptive technology, a kind of software that changes the rules of the game. QlikView is different; that's a fact.

Bryan Singler is evaluating results for three separate business segments under his control. Selected financial information for each segment follows: Rank order the three segments based on “margin,” “turnover,” and “return on investment.” How is it possible that the rankings differ based on which evaluative model is used?

In Vietnam, after the conversion from the command economy to market economy, the local enterprises faced many difficulties in strategic management. Businesses need to research, develop a strategic tool to have enough flexibility to respond to market changes. A business strategy must be formulated on the basis of analysis and forecast opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of the enterprise, helping businesses obtain general information about the external and internal business environment. Viettel Group is one successful model of change to the market economy.

In recent decades, assets and enterprises that were run by various states have been modeled after business enterprises. In 2003, the People's Republic of China reformed 80% of its state-owned enterprises and modeled them on a company-type management system.[2] Many state institutions and enterprises in China and Russia have been transformed into joint-stock companies, with part of their shares being listed on public stock markets. Business process management (BPM) is a holistic management approach[1] focused on aligning all aspects of an organization with the wants and needs of clients.

Responding to the demands of increased regulatory requirements, international expansion, and increased acquisition activity requires flexibility. Rules, network reliability, and business processes can vary widely across geographies and product lines. IT systems must accommodate these challenges both functionally and technically. Oracle FLEXCUBE Core Banking supports several deployment options that allow banks to provide services uniformly across all channels and markets.
