The present study was conducted to quantify the standing litter crop and litter fall production under dry tropical forests in buffer zone of Achanakmaar-Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve (AABR). Five major forest types viz., mixed forest, Sal Mixed Forest, Mixed Teak forest, Teak Mixed forest and Bamboo brakes were identified after floristic survey in the study area. Standing litter crop was recorded by randomly laying three 0.5 x 0.5 m sub quadrates on forest floor in each marked sample quadrate (20 x 20 m) of a forest type.

A substantial parameter that links plants to the soil is microbial biomass. Measurement of the biologically-active fractions of the soil organic matter, is a good way to quantify the quality of the soil. In the study, the impact of canopy and seasonal dynamics on different forest soil microbial community composition in Mid Hills of Himachal Pradesh were investigated in the forest floor under a stand of five forest ecosystems. Soil samples were collected from the organic layer and topsoil.

A state-dependent, dynamic forest floor development model is presented. The model considers litterfall as input. The decomposition of the litter was modelled as influenced by the quality of litter and miccroclimatic conditions (temperature and moisture).

In what follows, we draw on these techniques to model contagion stemming from unexpected shocks in complex nancial networks with arbitrary structure, and then use numerical simulations to illustrate and clarify the intuition underpinning our analytical results. Our framework explicitly accounts for the nature and scale of aggregate and idiosyncratic shocks and allows asset prices to interact with balance sheets.
