The data matrix was analyzed using the key-generating package of programs DELTA. The analysis produced a conventional key with a detailed description of every species in terms of the 54 characters. The key is decidedly a marked improvement over its predecessors in that it is strictly comparative and leads directly to the full scientific name of any taxon, instead of having to use a key to the genera followed by a second key to the infra-generic taxa.

The key is based on 48 characters of vegetative and floral morphology recorded comparatively for the species. The key-generating package of computer programs DELTA was used to construct the keys and to provide detailed and coded descriptions of the species in terms of the recorded characters.

The floristic composition and phytogeographical analysis of the Gebel Elba National Park in the south-east corner of Egypt were studied using multivariate analysis techniques. Its flora was poorly documented; therefore, 5 recent expeditions between 1998 and 2004 were carried out, which resulted in the collection of 179 species that belong to 51 families.

This study aimed to characterise Egyptian desert vine flora and compare it with that of deserts in other continents, such as Australia and North America. Specifically, 5 common climbing desert plants (Citrullus colocynthis, Cocculus pendulus, Cucumis prophetarum, Pergularia tomentosa, and Periploca angustifolia) were selected for this study.

Deserts comprise about 95% of the total land surface of Egypt; therefore, their potential for production must be assessed. Weed communities are mainly affected by the environment, and studies may increase our knowledge of the relationship among the weed flora, soil properties, crop rotation, soil management, fertiliser usage, and weed control.
