The research on the structure of the phytoplankton community in relation to the physicalchemical parameters of seawater needs to be carried out to see indicators of fertility and availability of natural food in the waters that will be used as a marine aquaculture location. To find out the relationship between physico-chemical parameters and phytoplankton abundance, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used. Some physico-chemical parameters observed were temperature, brightness, pH, salinity, coated oxygen (DO), phosphate, nitrate, and ammonia.

Mango fruit plays an important economic role in Côte d’Ivoire as the third major exported fruit after banana and pineapple. The main issue of the mango value chain in Côte d’Ivoire is linked to poor agricultural practices and postharvest losses due to climateric characteristics of the fruit. Our previous research with chitosan leads us to conclude that 2.5% chitosan can be promptly used as a fruit coating. However, to be used as a fruit coating for climacteric fruits, the effect of ethylene trapped under chitosan coating on ripening needs to be blocked. 1- methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) is known as an anti-ethylene and it can be applied in combination with chitosan.

Its thin skin and climacteric-typed respiration shorten its shelf-life due to high transpiration and respiration rates. This study showed that the AV gel could be suitable for producing an edible film and coating with good physical characteristics such as low WVP (0.0037g/m2 .h.mmHg). AV's low WVP appeared to have a great impact on maintaining post-harvest quality especially reducing the percentage of weight loss of coated fruit during storage.

Detection of bacteria using antimicrobial polymer derived via ring-opening metathesis (romp) pathway
There is growing interest in the detection of bacteria in consumables, for example, in the food and water sectors. In this study, the aim was to produce a polymer-based bacteria biosensor via ROMP (ring opening metathesis polymerization). In the first part of the study, block and random copolymers were synthesized, and their biocidal activities were tested on the glass surface. Interdigitated electrode arrays coated with the polymers possessing the highest activity were used to screen the affinity towards different bacterial strains by monitoring impedance variations in real-time.
