Forced swimming test

In the present work, we aimed to examine the antidepressant-like effect and the underlying mechanism of OS-B using a UCMS model of depression. Our results suggested that OS-B exhibits anti-depressive effects at least in part via noradrenergic, dopaminergic, and/or serotonergic systems.

The current study sought to investigate the anti-fatigue efficacy of poly herbal granule (PHG) formulations of the extracts of Asparagus racemosus, Chlorophytum borivilianum, Tinospora cordifolia, Tribulus terrestris and Withania somnifera enriched with general tonic and health promoting properties based on Aloe vera gel and soyabean whey in Swiss mice. The nutrient compositions of the selected PHG exhibited that the carbohydrates were the major constituents in both AVII and SBWII, followed by protein and total ash. Fat contents were 0.96 and 1.18 g100g-1 in AVII and SBWII, respectively.

Antidepressant, Phenothiazine, QSAR, Antidepressants are the drugs used to treat depression thereby elevates mood and modifies the behavior. The main aims in the development of new antidepressants were greater efficacy, absence of side effects, lack of toxicity in over dose and earlier onset of action. In this study, a series of novel substituted phenothiazine was synthesized and evaluated for antidepressant activity by using or forced swim test (FST). Our synthetic route started from substituted aniline which was reacted with cyclohexanone.

A large number of the world’s population suffer from depression and anxieties at some points in their life time, the sufferers are however sceptical about the available orthodox drugs largely because of side effects, cost and availability. This present study was aimed at evaluating the antidepressant potentials of Voacanga africana to query its ethno medicinal claim. The extract of the stem-bark of the plant was screened for its phytochemical composition, and antidepressant potentials assessed using forced swimming test (FST) and tail suspension test (TST).

Everyone tries to relieve stress by taking anti-stress drugs. However, synthetic anti-stress drugs have unwanted side effects, expensive and not readily accessible. Thus, we aimed at investigating the anti-stress activities of aqueous extract of Musanga cecropioides stem bark using forced swimming endurance stress test, anoxia stress tolerance, chronic cold resistance stress test and DPPH radical scavenging capacity.
