Bananas (Musa spp.) are the most important fruit crops worldwide due to their high nutrition value. Fusarium wilt of banana, caused by fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4 (Foc 4), is considered as the most destructive disease in the world and results in extensive damage leading to productivity loss. The widespread use of plant resistance inducers (PRIs), such as benzothiadiazole (BTH), is a novel strategy to stimulate defense responses in banana plants to protect against pathogens infection.

Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is an oilseed crop that is valued as a source of high quality vegetable oil. The present study was carried out with the objective of evaluation of genetic diversity among 11 Fusarium wilt resistance and 5 susceptible safflower genotypes by using RAPD and SSR markers.241 RAPD primer as well as 17 SSR polymorphic primers were used in this study.

The present study was undertaken during kharif 2014 at experimental farm, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, College of Agriculture, Raichur during kharif 2014 to screen genotypes resistant to Fusarium wilt and molecular characterization for Fusarium wilt resistance in M2 and M3 generation. Among 62 selected genotypes 26 genotypes showed resistant, 32 genotypes showed moderately resistant and 3 genotypes registered susceptible reaction in M2 generation.

Fusarium wilt of cluster bean caused by Fusarium solani is an important disease which is known to cause heavy crop loss in Rajasthan as well as in India. During the survey the disease fusarium wilt of cluster bean incidence was recorded from 15.66 to 19.20 per cent at Jaipur, Phulera and Renwal tehsil of Jaipur district and Nawa tehsil of Nagaur district.

The investigation was carried out at Department of Plant Pathology, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. Wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cumini is a serious disease of cumin. Considering its regular occurrence and economic loss the wilt pathogen was selected for present investigation to generate the informations to find out the resistance of cultivars/lines. Out of fifteen varieties/lines tested one line (JC-2000-9) was found free from disease. The recommended varieties of Gujarat State viz., GC-2, GC-3 and GC-4 were found highly susceptible to F. oxysporum f. sp.

The soil-borne necrotrophic fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Ciceris (FOC)infects chickpeaand causes wilt in any stage of plant from seedling to podding. Owing to climate change and ever changing nature of the pathogen, no resistant host cultivar is sustaining long against this disease. Hence, root resident Aspergillus niger isolates as native mycoflora were evaluated as bioagent against the FOC because chemical control has long been discouraged due to its circulation in food chain. In this study, we established the biocontrol potential of organic acid producing A.

This work is consists of a literature review that is eventually providing a complete union of research progress in plant breeding, hereditary qualities and molecular mapping of the cotton genome with molecular markers for identification of fusarium wilt. Enrolment of Fusarium wilt resistant cultivars has demonstrated to be the most economically worthy method to control the disease.

Several biotic and abiotic constraints significantly reducing the chickpea area and production over last two decades. Among biotic stresses, fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri (Foc) is the major soil-borne fungus affecting chickpea production globally. This Fusarium wilt disease affects chickpea not only quantitatively but also qualitatively. The development of resistant varieties is the most effective method to manage this disease and to stabilizing its productivity.

This crop (chickpea) is subjected to attack by a number of fungal, viral, bacterial and nematode diseases. Inadequate information is available on the Fusarium wilt of gram as regards to seed-borne nature. In present studies total ten varieties seed, in which five susceptible viz., Radhey, JG-62, Pusa-372, Pusa-329 and ICP-1454 and five resistant viz., Avarodhi, KWR-108, KGD-1168, JG-315 and JG-130 (resistant to disease under field condition) were taken.
