In this research, a single-step polymeric novel particle was synthesized from oak bark extract by nanoemulsion polymerization technique for the first time in the literature. It has been shown that the synthesized particles are achieved without losing any antioxidant and antibacterial properties of the oak bark extract. In this study, the p(OB) particles were reported for the first time and were characterized in terms of antioxidant, blood compatible, H2O2 scavenging, antibacterial, and antifungal potential to evaluate their use in biocompatible materials with drug release system potential.

The aim of the present study is to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of gallic acid grafted onto COS chains (GA-COS), focusing on the reduction of nitric oxide production, downregulation of inflammatory signals such as inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), gene expression of cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) signalling, including the p50 and p65 subunits.

The physico-chemical properties of electrospun polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) based hydrogel composites were investigated. Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) was employed as a crosslinking agent. 2.5-7.5 wt% of gallic acid was successfully loaded into an electrospun poly vinyl alcohol fiber.

Fractions yielded from Phellinus gilvus fruiting bodies by liquid-liquid partition of methanol extract contained various bioactive compounds such as phenolics, flavonoids and terpenes. Butanol, water and ethyl acetate fractions had large amount of phenolics, 158.12 - 247.31 mg of gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/g and low amount of flavonoids, 21.74 - 36.05 mg of quercetin equivalents (QE)/g.

Từ cao ethyl acetate của thân cây Quéo (Mangifera reba) đã phân lập 3 hợp chất 5,7-hydroxychromone (1), gallic acid (2) và methyl gallate (3). Cấu trúc của các hợp chất đã được xác định dựa vào dữ liệu phổ cộng hưởng từ hạt nhân NMR và so sánh với các tài liệu tham khảo. Các hợp chất trên đã được thử hoạt tính ức chế enzyme α-glucosidase. Hai hợp chất 1 và 2 thể hiện hoạt tính mạnh với giá trị IC50 lần lượt là 27,0 và 50,9 μM so với chất đối chứng dương acarbose (IC50, 214.5 μM).

In this work, we investigated the larvicidal, ovicidal, and histopathological alterations induced by Lepidium sativum seed extracts in Culex pipiens. Hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and methanol solvents were used for the seed extraction. Only ethyl acetate seed extract was active against the third instar mosquito larvae of Cx. pipiens. The ethyl acetate extract had an LC50 of 27.03 µg/mL. Egg hatchability was between 95% (25 µg/mL) and 5% (200 µg/mL). The ethyl acetate treated larvae showed protruding epithelial cells, and degraded microvilli. The total phenolic content was 0.3 ± 0.

This paper includes the results of the first study about the phenolic characteristics and antimicrobial analyses of Geranium ibericum subsp. jubatum species found in Turkey. In the present work, the phenolic contents of different parts of the G. ibericum (flower, root, leaf) were determined with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)–DAD (diode-array detector) and liquid chromatography (LC)–MS/MS (mass spectrometry).

In this study, silver nanoclusters as prooxidant biosensor were eco‒friendly synthesized using chicken egg white protein without any chemical reducing agents for measuring copper(II)-induced prooxidant activities of catechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin gallate, resveratrol, gallic acid, chlorogenic acid, and rutin. The prooxidant activities were evaluated via measuring the absorption at 450 nm wavelength of the Cu(I)‒neocuproine chelate formed by extraction of protein-bound Cu(I) with neocuproine reagent.
