Microsatellite (MS) is a genetic marker widely used in the studies of pedigree, individual identification, gene mapping, and genetic diversity within and between populations. The genetic diversity of the indigenous Ven dog breed, along with two imported dog breeds, the Berger and Poodle dogs raised in Vietnam, was analyzed based on seven microsatellite markers.

This study presents the results of correlation analysis between morphological characteristics and the rbcL marker in the identification of Padina seaweed samples collected at Hon Thom, Phu Quoc, Kien Giang province (HTO), Vietnam. The phylogenetic tree and genetic distance between HTO with references showed the samples belonging to Padina australis.

Genetic diversity among 28 sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) varieties was examined at DNA level by means of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis. Fifteen primers used produced a total of 132 RAPD fragments. Each primer generated 3 to 26 amplified fragments with an average of 8.8 bands per primer. Based on pair-wise comparisons of RAPD amplification products, Nei and Li’s similarity coefficients were computed to assess the associations among the varieties. Pair-wise similarity indices varied from 0.35 to 0.84.

Infertility is becoming a major problem among the marital couples and in at least 50% of the cases, the male partners are the only contributor to the problem. Many of these men are diagnosed with no etiology and hence they are idiopathic cases. The current study was planned to generate some markers in infertile males in order to find a preventive measure that could be taken for effective cure of this serious issue.

Assessment of genotype diversity was studied using released and in pipeline genotypes of wheat, of these 22 were released and 14 were in pipeline . Genetic diversity among 36 wheat genotypes was studied using Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis. 21 RAPD primers (RPI primers) were used for screening 36 wheat genotypes from which 2,868 fragments were amplified. It was observed that 63.3% bands were polymorphic and 36.4% were monomorphic. The percent of polymorphic bands in banding pattern was calculated and it was highest in RPI-22 (81.3%) while lowest was recorded in RPI-2 (33.

In this study, a total of sixteen RAPD primers were used for evaluation of the genetic diversity of eight H. serrata samples collected from different locations of Sa Pa and Da Lat. Overall, sixteen markers generated a total of 70 fragments in 8 collected samples of H. serrata. Of seventy generated fragments, 44 were found to be polymorphic.

The present study aimed to determine the role of Kupffer cells (KCs) in cytochrome P450 (CYP) isozyme activity and the expression of its gene during polymicrobial sepsis. For ablation of KCs, rats were pretreated with gadolinium chloride (GdCl3 ) at 48 and 24 h before cecal ligation and punc-ture (CLP).
