In points of annual crop farming and close to residential the contribution of inorganic fertilizers to the total concentration of nitrate was estimated, based on the δ 15N-NO3 values, to be as high as more than 60% and the contribution of water waste was around 35-40%. This is the first time isotopic signature of nitrogen-15 in nitrate (δ15N-NO3) was applied as a tool to assess and identify sources of the nutrient in aquatic environment.

In this study, the potential mobility of phosphorus (P) in sediment from Can Gio was investigated. Three single extractions were applied including a mild salt (NH4 Cl), an acid (HCl), and a base (NaOH) each representing different environmental factors during sediment resuspension. Other geochemical parameters were also determined. The total amount of P in the sediments varied from 320.41 mg/kg to 668.22 mg/kg in five sampling sites.

The aim of this study is to elucidate the characteristics of marine environmental geochemistry from Ha Tinh - Quang Nam (60-100m water depth) based on analysis of geochemical parameters of seawater and surface sediments. Surface sediments that are high in absorbed capacity of toxic substances mainly accumulated in northern study area.

This paper clarified the characteristics of soil acidification of haplic Acrisols on ancient alluvial deposit under intensive cassava cultivation in Chau Thanh district, Tay Ninh province, Southeastern Vietnam. Soils were sampled at 3 intervals (0-20, 20-40, 40-60 cm in depth) in 12 sites of intensive cassava cultivation and geochemical parameters related to soil acidity were analysed.
