The gold mineralization in the southern region of Tra Nu-Phuoc Thanh was initially discovered and assessed by the Central Geological Division. However, mineralization characteristics and ore-controlling factors in the Tra Nu-Phuoc Thanh area remain inadequately understood. This study conducts a comprehensive synthesis of prior research findings, complemented by the analysis of an additional 50 thin sections, 100 thick sections, SEM scanning electron microscopy, and 10 ICP-MS samples.

This study aims to investigate the characteristics of the salinization phenomenon in water systems and its controlling factors based on hydrogeochemical analysis, seawater-freshwater mixing model and End Members Mixing Analysis. The results revealed that seawater intrusion negatively affects strongly on surface water quality with different magnitudes, depending on seasonal variation and tidal regime.

This study shows the results of landslide susceptibility mapping for the southwest region of Quang Nam province using the Weights of Evidence (WoE) model. The input data consists of a landslide inventory and ten influencing factors, i.e., geology, distance to fault, elevation, relief amplitude, slope, aspect, rainfall, soil type, land use, and distance to road.

In this paper, all possible flood-causative factors of road flooding have been investigated. Representative indicators have been chosen to reduce the mutual influence and its derivative, including road characteristics, climatic factors, hydrological characteristics, geology environmental factors (topographical characteristics) and social factors (human activities).

This phenomenon is a result of a combination of critical natural and artificial conditions of many impact factors such as topographic attribute, infrastructure constructions, geology, land cover, and rainfall. Estimating the contribution weights of these factors plays a significant role in disaster management activities.

For the purpose of ensuring sustainable development, one of the important factors is to increase labor productivity and minimize the number of workers directly working in the mine. In the context of increasing requirements for underground coal mining, the number of workers tends to decline due to shifting to other types of economy. Therefore, the mechanization investment in coal mining is the inevitable destination, which guarantees the long - term strategic development of the coal mining industry.

Water is one of the most essential commodities for mankind and the largest available source of fresh water lays underground. Tremendous increase in the agricultural, industrial and domestic activities in recent years has increased the demand for good quality water to meet the growing needs. Groundwater is mostly preferred to meet this growing demand because of its lower level of contamination and wider distribution. The occurrence of groundwater is a consequence of the interaction of the climatic, geological, hydrological and physiographical factors.

Landslide susceptibility mapping of the city of Da Lat, which is located in the landslide prone area of Lam Dong province of Central Vietnam region, was carried out using GIS based frequency ratio (FR) method. There are number of methods available but FR method is simple and widely used method for landslide susceptibility mapping.

The phenomenon of landslides is a strong example of natural disasters that directly affect the development of mountainous areas in general, and the traffic and transportation sectors in particular. By observing the damages caused by typical landslides in Vietnam, it can be recognized that the response to this dangerous phenomenon is often quite passive. This paper proposes a new strategy to proactively prevent and mitigate the occurrence of this natural disaster for sake of new design and management of roads, especially in mountainous terrain areas.

The main goal of 3D modeling studies in the mining sector is to address the complex geological, mineralogical, and structural factors in subsurface environments and detect the ore zone(s). In order to solve this complexity, use of quality data (e.g., a wide range of boreholes at regular intervals) is necessary. However, this situation is not always possible because of certain restrictions such as intensive vegetation, high slope areas, and some economic constraints.

Results of the regression analysis generally verified the proposed hypotheses, especially regarding the positive impact of education or geological suitability and the negative effect of improved living standards and democracy on nuclear acceptance. We propose policy recommendations, including a better focus on education and communication and a thorough consideration of the social and geological conditions a country needs to make before deciding to go nuclear.

In this paper, we solve local wavenumber equation to estimate the horizontal position, the depth and the type of the causative source geometry by using a linear least-squares approximation. The advantages of the algorithm in determining the horizontal position and depth measure are its independency to shape factor of the sources and also its simple computations.

The spatial information related to these factors can be derived from remote sensing data, ground based information, and several other data sources. Geographic Information System (GIS) is a very powerful tool for the integration of different types of data. Over the past few years, there have been significant developments of GIS for spatial data analysis. Efficient landslide susceptibility mapping can be carried out by combining GIS with image processing capabilities (Sarkar and Kanungo, 2004).
