Bacteria Edwardsiella ictaluri is a major pathogenic bacterium threatening aquatic species and seriously affecting the aquaculture industry globally. Previous studies have focused on analyzing bacteria's pathological signs and virulence on pangasius fingerlings. However, research on the virulence and pathogenicity of Edwardsiella ictaluri in the striped catfish at the fry stage is still limited.

Streptococcosis and Motile Aeromonad Septicemia (MAS) are important diseases of tilapia, Oreochromis spp. and causes huge economic losses in aquaculture globally. The feed-based vaccination may be an alternative to minimize major infectious diseases in tilapia. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the haemato-immunological responses and effectiveness of a newly developed feed-based killed bivalent vaccine against Streptococcus iniae and Aeromonas hydrophila in hybrid red tilapia.

Global trend of the introduction of high levels of relatively cheap carbohydrates to reduce the amount of costly protein in the aquatic animal feed production has affected the aquaculture of an economically important cyprinid fish, blunt snout bream (Megalobrama amblycephala). This dietary shift has resulted in increased prevalence of metabolic disorders, often causing economic losses. High dietary intake of carbohydrates, associated with obesity, is one of the major causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in humans.

Streptococcus agalactiae (GBS) is a major pathogen of Nile tilapia, a global commodity of the aquaculture sector. The aims of this study were to evaluate protein expression in the main genotypes of GBS isolated from diseased fishes in Brazil using a label-free shotgun nano-liquid chromatography-ultra definition mass spectrometry (nanoLCUDMSE ) approach and to compare the differential abundance of proteins identified in strains isolated from GBSinfected fishes and humans.

Monogenean flatworms are the main fish ectoparasites inflicting serious economic losses in aquaculture. The polyopisthocotylean Sparicotyle chrysophrii parasitizes the gills of gilthead sea bream (GSB, Sparus aurata) causing anaemia, lamellae fusion and sloughing of epithelial cells, with the consequent hypoxia, emaciation, lethargy and mortality.

With the intensification of global warming, rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) suffer from varying degrees of thermal stimulation, leads to mass mortality, which severely restrict the development of aquaculture. Understanding the molecular regulatory mechanisms of rainbow trout under heat stress is useful to develop approaches to relieve symptoms.

For rapid growing population, production of animal protein source in a sustainable manner is very difficult from conventional protein source under climate change scenario. Insects are the best alternative food source for conventional livestock. Entomophagy is one of the viable option to meet the global animal protein demand. Eating of insects has several advantages over consumption of conventional animals includes nutritional, environmental, social and economical opportunities. Several insect species are reared as feed for poultry and aquaculture.

Pangasius catfish is one of the world‟s fastest growing fresh water species in aquaculture. Different research findings have revealed development of various value added products from pangasius having global acceptance and commercial potential. The industry has expanded in terms of production and trade. Basa is being the preferred imported variety of Pangasius. It is now traded to well over 100 countries worldwide due to its mild flavor, whiter meat color and flaky cooked texture. The fish farmers practicing aquaculture have reported reduced profit margin.

Indian fisheries and aquaculture is an important sector of food production, providing nutritional security to the food basket, contributing to the agricultural exports and engaging about fourteen million people in different activities. Fish production in India has increased at a higher rate compared to food grains, milk, egg and other food items. Constituting of about 6.3% of the global fish production, the Indian fisheries sector contributes to 1.1% of the GDP and 5.15% of the agricultural GDP.

In connection with the global demand for safe human food and the production of environmentally friendly aquaculture products, acidifiers are natural organic acids and salts that have received considerable attention as animal-feed additives. The current study was designed to evaluate the effects of potassium diformate (KDF) on the growth performance and immunity of cultured Oreochromis niloticus (O. niloticus). Four iso-nitrogenous and iso-caloric rations containing graded levels of KDF, including 0% (control basal diet), 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.

The Mekong delta is the southernmost region of Vietnam, with a population of approximately 20 million and a total area (excluding islands) of about 4 million hectares, of which about 2.60 million hectares are used for developing agriculture and aquaculture. The Mekong delta is particularly important for the overall development of the country. However, in recent years, under the impact of global warming, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has defined the Mekong delta as one of the three most vulnerable plains, due to climate change, sea level rise, and land subsidence.
