We report on substrate temperature and Cu addition induced changes in the photovoltaic device performance of Glass/TCO/CdS/CdTe/Au heterostructures prepared by the electron beam evaporation technique. Prior to the photovoltaic study, the structural and optical properties of CdTe, CdTe:Cu and CdS/CdTe, CdS/ CdTe:Cu layers were studied.

Four species of oyster mushroom including P. djamor, P. eous, P. florida and P. citrinopileatus were tested for their yield performance, of them, the most promising yield was obtained in P. eous and P. djamor with minimum spawn running period. On subjecting them with additional substrates, sorghum grain was superior over other spawn substrates for quality spawn production in terms of earliness in growth of spawn and total yield followed by wheat grain.

The cultivation of Pleurotus cornucopiae, the branched oyster mushroom is not very common in India but is relished for its pleasant flavour and mild taste. Grain substrates for its spawn production have not been evaluated yet but, wheat grains are commonly used for the same. So, five different grain substrates viz., wheat, barley, kodo, jowar and maize were tested, for spawn run period, mycelia growth, fruit body characters and yield of said mushroom on five different substrates. It was found that minimum time for spawn run was taken by jowar grains (7.

In this paper, the effects of the welding current in the WAAM process on the shape and the microstructure evolution of thin-walled low-carbon steel components were studied. For this purpose, the thin-walled low-carbon steel samples were built layer-by-layer on the substrates by using an industrial gas metal arc welding robot with different levels of the welding current. The shape, microstructures, and mechanical properties of the thin-walled samples were then analyzed.

Since ancient times, mushrooms have been considered as a special kind of food. Blue oyster mushroom is a novel species with very large fruit body, blue coloured pinheads becoming light white on maturity, high yielder, palatable with meaty flavour and attractive keeping quality. Different types of cereal grains i.e. maize, sorghum, bajra, wheat and paddy were taken to see their effect on spawn development and Different substrates i.e. wheat straw, paddy straw, mustard straw, sesamum straw and pigeon pea straw significantly influenced the spawn run period, pinhead initiation and yield of H.

Aschersonia aleyrodis (Webber) one of the fungal entomopathogens utilized as a bio-control agent and was reported as the cause of epizootics amongst citrus black fly populations. The present study was aimed to find out cost effective suitable medium for mass multiplication of Aschersonia aleyrodis. Influence of synthetic, semi-synthetic culture media and food grains as solid substrate on growth and sporulation of A. aleyrodis was studied under laboratory condition.

Mushroom is a popular nutrient and protein-rich food of the world. Oyster mushroom is the second most popular mushroom after button mushroom all over the world. Oyster mushrooms are the important and least expensive to grow, they are well known for conversion of crop residues to food proteins. Growing medium of the mushroom is generally known as substrate. It is the base of mushroom cultivation same as soil for crops. The present investigations were carried out on Comparative studies of span growth on different grains substrate in three Pleurotus spp.

Rice straw being rich in cellulose and plentily available, it can serve as the chief renewable biomass resource for biofuel production. Several protocols are now available for efficient recovery of ethanol from cellulosic substrates of rice straw. Rice varieties showing high lignocellulosic straw biomass inherently reveal low harvest index and consequently low grain yield potential.

In eco-friendly management of soil borne plant diseases the T. viride plays an important role. Traditionally T. viride is multiplied on solid and liquid fermentation. Solid fermented biomass of Trichoderma consisted mainly of chlamydospores and conidia with some amount of mycelia fragments. High costs of substrate and storage methods are major problems in accelerate the production. Therefore, experiments were carried out to screen out locally available agricultural wastes and grains for solid fermentation process.

In this work, 200-nm-thick PZT films were successfully fabricated on Nb:STO substrates by a solution process. One obtained that PZT(111) peak started to appear on the Nb:STO substrate at a low annealing temperature of 450oC. Also, scanning electron microscopy observation shows smooth and homogeneous surface of PZT films on Nb:STO substrate with no grain boundary, which evidences for epitaxial-like growth of PZT thin films. Remnant polarization of 6 µC/cm2 and leakage current of 8×10-8 A were obtained at applied voltage of 5 V.

Mining wastes can cause significant ecological destruction. Often, solid mine wastes are dumped into streams, destroying habitat and causing siltation and heavy metal and other contamination. Even when such wastes are stored out of water channels, trace materials can leach into surface waters and infiltrate into local groundwater. Fine- grained tailings can wash into local waterways and degrade streams by covering and filling coarser-grained substrates.

The discovery of high temperature superconductors (HTS) in 1986 by two IBM scientists led to an unprecedented explosion of research and development efforts world-wide because of the significant potential for practical applications offered by these materials. However, the early euphoria created by the exciting prospects was dampened by the daunting task of fabricating these materials into useful forms with acceptable superconducting properties. Progress towards this goal has been hindered by many intrinsic materials problems, such as weak-links, flux-creep, and poor mechanical properties.
